I don't know if I told you guys all the details about this, but last summer I got to meet American Idol contestant Alexis Gomez who did almost all of her performances barefoot. Anyways, she was performing in Indianola Iowa and that's where I met Nick, one of the admins for Barefoot Is Legal for the first time. I started out wearing sandals, because even though it was at a hotel, I wasn't sure what they would say. But then seeing how Nick and Alexis had no problem with the main desk at the hotel, I slipped the sandals off and put them in my car. I told Alexis about my autism challenge and she said she has a cousin with autism. She told me after the concert that she would love to help out with my autism challenge anyway she can. She and I are friends on Facebook even so that makes it a bit easier to talk to her about it.
