Afton Trail Run, Afton State Park, MN - July 7

Who else is gonna be there? I'm doing the 50K in my Luna Roots Origen sandals. Just too much gravel to try the whole thing unshod although a lot of the trail is just nice dirt. Will be the farthest I've ever run!

Was a great experience! The sandals performed great. Learned a lot about balancing hydration with salt and calories.

Congrats to you! I'm happy for you...and a little jealous. I always found that I learned a lot about myself when I pushed the distance. I so wish I was able to get back out there and do it again.

I gotta say I could never have done distances like this if I hadn't gone unshod. Taking the shoes off has taught me so very much about the art of running.
