I guess nobody is running in the middle of the country today. I got my 5 miles in this PM feeling very virtuous until I saw what real cold and nasty weather looked like. I only had to contend with 20 to 30 mile per hour winds and temps falling from 34 to 29 as I ran. It wasn't too bad, at least until I hit a puddle at about exactly my halfway mark. Still it was a good run.

Funny thing with the wind: I didn't realize how strong it was until it dropped off and I nearly fell over.

Still, I get the urge for running, when the meadow grass is turning brown...

My current fave lyric...

The warriors of winter they gave a cold triumphant shout
And all that stays is dying and all that lives is getting out
See the geese in chevron flight flapping and racing on before the snow
They've got the urge for going, they've got the wings to go

They get the urge for going
When the meadow grass is turning brown
Summertime is falling down and winter is closing in
