I don't think he would have broken the 2 hour mark while running barefoot as the advantage he had by lengthening his legs by +25mm and having energy stored then returned by the shoes. This would have added that extra stride length over each step without fatiguing his legs and cutting a seconds off each mile covered.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. What I meant was without THOSE particular shoes, not barefoot, as in did this technology really help? You believe so. I'm not so certain, because he's a badass runner, but I can't rule it out.
