Hello! I'm getting ready to run my first 24 hour race in December. I've done a 50 mile trail race, but the 24 hour is a different animal. It is a bit over a mile loop course. I'm training on a fat-enabled/keto style diet. I'm working on the long and slow heart rate training methods of Phil Maffetone. I welcome any input from those of you who have done a timed race like this event. Thanks! Barefoot Terry California Chapter - SF Area
Good luck, Terry. How many 1-mile laps do you think you can run in 24 hours? I hope you don't get dizzy! Ha!
Well I think the loop is 1.065 miles. The goal is 100 miles so that’s supposed to be 95 laps. Gonna be a dizzy day!
How did it go? I've really been interested in a 24hr race sort of close to here, as it's the closest 'ultra' that is paved. But I don't foresee anyway I could even prepare myself for a 12hr race, maybe after I retire lol!
