Welcome to the Los Angeles Area Chapter of the Barefoot Runner's Society!
If there is a time and place you run regularly in the greater Los Angeles area, I encourage adding that to the event schedule/calendar here so others may join you (let me know if you need help).
If no one else shows up for your run/walk, no problem - you were planning to run anyway, weren't you? And even if you can't make a scheduled run/walk, if no one else RSVPed, you should not feel obligated to show up yourself!
I have scheduled a regular fun run near my home in Huntington Beach, California on Saturday Mornings at 10am. I'm usually there, and often it's just me, sometimes with my dog, Psycho "Kay" Katin, our new Mexican American Siberian Husky. Occasionally other human runners show up, but oddly, as often as not, they came from another end of the earth.
My events are free (so far), and informal. You should, however, feel encouraged (not obligated) to buy one of my books and get a free auto-foot-print-graph.
The Los Angeles Chapter of the Barefoot Runners Society includes the following counties; Inyo, Kern, Kings, Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernadino, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Tulare.
If anyone else wants to be president of this chapter, let's have a debate and an election. If you're at all skilled at organizing people, I'll try to help you win!
