    Barefoot hiking sherpa experiment

I could not bring myself to buy an expensive pack for the one back country trip we were planing. The large duffle bag in the garage would have to do. I did buy some Velcro shoulder straps to soften the bite into my shoulders. Then I the idea come, attach a simple strip of cloth and create a...

    Quad strength

I just had a fitness test. Apparently my quads are weak. I assumed that weak quads are related to a more balanced use of legs muscles. The fitness instructed was surprised considering I run 20 to 50 a week, bike 100 k a week and have run a 50 k ultra, two half marathons this year and I'm about...

    Kevlar Socks

Kevlar hockey socks. Sounds like a sock that might be tough enough for barefoot running. The socks are made of 35% Kevlar and are designed to reduce cuts from skates. Yesterday I tested a pair with a 12k run. I ran on a variety of surfaces from snow covered trails, asphalt, gravel to chip-seal...

Natural Running Clinic with Tina Dubois of Living Barefoot Coaching

The natural running clinic was awesome. Tina did a great job explaining proper running form. We had time to get our walking analyzed, do posture drills and at the end she took videos of us running, analyzes the video and took another video to show the results. Well worth $50. Because there were...

    Like walking on the lawn

My son made these. He was asking what was the first shoes made of. Grass is the best answer we could come up with. The other choice was a small rodent but we decide paleo man would eat the rodent and not tie it to his foot. They feel just like walking across the lawn. Nice and cool :)

Article: Ken Bob's book -- long awaited, and worth it - A review by Matt.

Great review Matt. Before my first bf marathon I wanted to read Ken Bob's book, hoping to glean some wisdom from his experience. I found what I was looking for in the technique chapters. In particular the idea of the 123 landing immediately changed my form for the better. Excellent book...

    Leg Length Discrepancy

I keep hearing the argument that leg length discrepancy needs to be corrected. That people with this problem should not try barefoot running and need orthotics. I could point out three people that have told me this in the last week. Michael Sandler has a LLD. I do not, but I am very curious what...
