  1. Soft Star Dash

I have a pair of the RunAMoc Dash Smooth 2mm black for work, and they are awesome. The go fine with dress pants/shirt and tie, and the only comments I have received are "man, those look REALLY comfy." I'm very interested in, and will probably buy, the tough leather sole Dash's. I can only...
  2. Stamina or Strength.... but not both.

"Summer's Coming"... I'm jealous! Winter's coming for me!
  3. Stamina or Strength.... but not both.

Interesting point about doing your running first if that is more important and weights first if that is more important. If I do cycle on a weight day in the off season, it's simply an easy spin AFTER weights. I'll do the treadmill for a warm up. But when I say light weight, I mean a set of...
  4. Stamina or Strength.... but not both.

Ditto... but I can only speak to cycling and lifting weights. Weights for me are strictly in the off-season/winter, and I do very high reps with light weight.
  5. Hello from Buffalo, NY

BarefootTJ, I think I remember finding out about the BRS at the "Running Naked on Sharp Pointy Things" blog. I've gone to so many barefoot sites, I can hardly remember! Barefootn, Thanks for the advice, and yes, it is great to hear from someone close by! I'm still taking it VERY slow...

    Thanks for the info!
  7. Noob Question

Sorry if this is very basic, but what does MAF stand for? I've seen it mentioned a lot in the forums but can't seem to find what the acronym stands for. Thanks, Brandon
  8. A Barefoot Experience!

Hi Everyone, I just got back from a long weekend in the Adirondacks and wanted to share a barefoot experience with you all. For those of you who don't know my background, I've just gotten into barefoot walking in the past two months or so, and have been taking the transition very slow. I've...
  9. Fellowship of the Morton's Toe

Good thing I'm making the transition at a snail's pace!
  10. Barefoot Walking Technique

    Thanks Rick!
  11. Barefoot Walking Technique

Hi All, I have another quick question. When you mid-foot walk, not run, does your heel touch the ground after your mid-foot hits the ground? Or, does your heel never touch the ground? Thanks, Brandon
  12. Barefoot Walking Technique

Thanks for all of the advice/insight everyone!
  13. Fellowship of the Morton's Toe

I hope not either TJ! On a side note, I did some analysis of my "Greek" toes, and my 2nd Metatarsal is only about 1/2 cm longer than my 1st metatarsal. How does that rank in Morton's severity? Would one judge the severity of Morton's toe by the Metatarsal length difference, or by the 2nd toe...
  14. Fellowship of the Morton's Toe

Count me in! I definitely have Morton's Toe, although I never even knew it until my wife's father (he's a chiropracter) pointed it out. Since I'm still in the BF walking phase of my trainsition to BF running, I'll have to wait and see if my longer digit causes me issues. -Brandon
  15. Barefoot Walking Technique

Nick, Thanks for the advice. Heel striking while walking BF doesn't bother me at all. I just wanted to know if I was building a bad habit by heel striking when I walk. From what I've read on the forum, it looks like it's a mixed preference. -Brandon
  16. Barefoot Walking Technique

Hi All, As part of my transition into BF running, I'm starting out with 5 minutes of BF walking three times a week and building by 5 minutes each week until I can walk barefoot for 45 minutes. My questions is whether or not I should be heel striking when I walk barefoot. Thoughts? -Brandon
  17. Hello from Buffalo, NY

Alejandro, Thanks for the feedback! I'm barefoot as much as I can outside of workout time. I've been wearing VFFs for everyday life for about a year, and I just recently bought a pair of RunAMocs that I can wear to work. If I'm at home, I'm completely barefoot. So... tennis shoes are out...
  18. Hello from Buffalo, NY

Hey there fellow barefoot runners! My name is Brandon, and I'm from Buffalo, NY. I'm a CAT4 competitive cyclist, and a 99% noob runner. Last year, I tried to start running shod, but quickly developed ITB issues that knocked me on my rear for a few months. I quit running completely and haven't...
