Hi everyone, I haven't forgotten the forum, just not enough hours in the day :-) I do pop in from time to time and read a little and it is great to see so many new BFRs and so many familliar faces. I'm promoting barefoot running here in South Korea and ran my first BF race for the year...

The long road back: Standing at the trail head

Hi all, Haven't been over here in ages, life has just gotten too busy to keep up. I haven't run since early August because the doc still hasn't cleared me to run following the stress fractures in my cuboid and navicular. I'm slow to heal because of medical issues and the medication that...

    sore arches!!

I've been walking around in my "boot" for several days now and my arch is killing me! Obviously, I am not one to need arch support, but sheesh! I think the problem is a hard soled shoe without arch support. My foot is not flexing or moving naturally (of course it isn't, it isn't supposed to)...

    no doc?

Did the doc bail on BRS? Not that I'm one to criticise bailing since I bailed as newsletter editor, just curious since the link is gone and he hadn't posted in ages.

    Mystery Injury becoming more clear.

Doc thinks it is a Lisfranc injury. Not sure yet if it is a ligament tear or stress fracture, lots of tests still need to be done started Monday morning, and a visit with the orthopod. Geeze, I can't even get injured normally!

    Famous? Really?

A few days ago I was talking to a woman in the Base Exchange and our conversation wandered over running, barefoot running, etc. Today I saw her in the commissary and she said, "You know, you are famous around here." Famous? She said she had talked to several people, mentioning that she met a...

Thanks Zumba for keeping up the weekly threads! Great job everyone on your miles. I've been keeping up pretty well with my running AND walking many miles in heat and mind blowing humidity so I'm totally trashed by the weekend. Somewhere in the last 10 days I went over 500 barfoot miles...

    Sneaky runner

I was out on my favorite trail today and it was very busy since we had cloud covered and light rain. I feel like I make a lot of noise running since I have water sloshing in 4 bottles around my waist, but aparently I'm really quiet. Three times I came up behind walkers, slowed my pace for a...
