  4. Not Sounding like an Idiot when being interviewed about barefoot running.

So, after about a year of barefoot running, reading a lot, and being on this site I feel like I have a very good base knowledge about barefoot running. I've even read a lot of the heavy, scientific articles about it, but that doesn't seem to help when you have about 10 minutes and a couple of...

It has been about 9 days since the accident. i don't have any swelling or any pain when walking. It is still slightly sore when I bend my toes, but I'm thinking this could be from all the days when I didn't bend them at all so I am stretching them. I did find out that it was a sharp piece of...

thanks for the advice. Yeah i can use an eliptical and a bike. I can't believe how much not being able to run is hurting me. I saw a bunch of people running on campus today and cursed under my breath. You are probably right with the half. I am more upset that I am getting off track for the...

  12. BF vs VFF in HM?

I've had the pleasure of I've had the pleasure of attending one of Barefoot Ken Bob's workshops. He calls rocky areas or gravel "nutrition" the soft stuff is like ice cream he says. It's important for your body to get the nutrients it needs and it's important for your feet to learn to run on...

First let me say that I love Paul McCartney! That may be a bit too much, but the fact is, I really like the Beatles, my wife really likes the Beatles, we got engaged at the Imagine mosaic in Central Park. I say all of this first because I am about to use the name Paul McCartney in a slightly...
  15. Comment by 'barefootcaleb' in 'Can you tell if someone is a barefoot runner or not by how they run in Vibrams?'

they have a link on here to barefoot ken bob's page about beginning to run barefoot. Its a great article that I go back and read every now and then when I feel like I might be missing something. It talks about common problems like foot slapping. It says that if your feet our slapping bend your...
  16. are my toes curling under my feet?

This winter I ran a half marathon barefoot. It was much colder than I had expected and after running through many water stops where water covered the ground I wanted to stop, but decided to push on. Around mile 8 or 9 I started to get this sensation that my toes were curling up under my feet. I...
  17. Comment by 'barefootcaleb' in 'Can you tell if someone is a barefoot runner or not by how they run in Vibrams?'

Since starting to run barefoot i've only worn headphones once and hated it. The guy I watched also had headphones as well and that was probably why he couldn't hear how loud he was slapping the ground. The sun is shining and snow is melting and i'm getting excited to not have to wear the Vibrams.
  18. Can you tell if someone is a barefoot runner or not by how they run in Vibrams?

I know this sounds like a weird question, and the more I reread it the more I want to change it, but I'm feeling particularly lazy today and don't want to scroll up. I was running on an indoor track today wearing Vibrams. I had played around with the idea of going barefoot on the track, but had...
  19. Comment by 'barefootcaleb' in 'Denied at the Gym!'

I almost wrote a blog about this issue, but saw yours so I didn't. Mine has to do with my university gym (aren't universities supposed to be more liberal?) So when it was warm out I would use the locker room to change and shower in during some free time I had between classes and work. I avoided...
