Mileage Reporting week 30 of 2015

I think we're halfway through with week 30 already! 7 hot and humid miles home tonight but I took it easy and managed an 8:55 pace at an AHR of 117. It was almost relaxing!

An especially gentle barefoot outing today to try and getter a better idea of the Maffetone Method. 13.52 miles at 9.03 pace. AHR 122. MHR 130. Even more time than usual to appreciate the scenery!

Mileage reporting week 14 of 2015

A gentle, min-shod, 9 miles yesterday ambling home having taken the subway downtown to make a delivery. 13+ barefoot miles this afternoon, 4 of them with an orthodox Jew who was running in his lunch hour in business attire (minus tie) at 7.30 m/m and not breaking sweat!

    Mileage reporting week 12 2015

Nothing yesterday and I'd only planned a couple of easy loops of the park this morning but I got into conversation with someone training for Boston and I ended up doing 3! 19.24 barefoot miles, 8.05 pace. Great fun!

Mileage reporting week 11 of 2015

A lacklustre start to the week, due to exhaustion yesterday, capped off with a 4.5 mile, min-shod, trot home this evening in a steady rain at about 7C. I'll have to get a few more dry, barefoot miles in before I can run in that after this winter. It's supposed to be dry and warmer tomorrow :)

Mileage reporting week 2 of 2015

26.5 min-shod miles so far this week. This morning's run was delightful, about -7C, light snow, no wind. I felt like I was flying! So much fun I ran 2 miles more than usual just 'cos. Had an interesting conversation in the middle of it but more of that elsewhere!

Mileage reporting week 1 of 2015

Since we seem to be in week 1 already somebody has to start this thread! About 30 miles so far this week, all min-shod, all great fun, all cool(ish). 3.5 miles of my run home last night was with an acquaintance who is a very accomplished ultramarathon runner . I had intended to have an easy...

Mileage reporting week 52 of 2014

It looks as though some people don't want the year to end ;) About 30, mostly damp, all minshod, miles so far this week. All at an easy pace. Just building base.

    Can anybody explain this ...............

I went out for a run today wearing my regular Polar RCX5 and a TomTom runner. Both are GPS equipped. At the end of the run I downloaded both and they had recorded the same operational time but the TomTom showed 0.4 miles shorter distance than the 14.2 recorded by the Polar. I plotted my route...

Mileage reporting 33rd week of 2014

Just because it's already Tuesday evening and no one else has started this yet! 12.2 miles on a cool, humid day with a strong north wind this evening. A nice change from typical August conditions!
  15. DNEchris

    Not quite barefoot...........

but this might help technique for some!

    Quite an undertaking!

Not necessarily barefoot or minimalist but this is quite a goal

    My First Run of 2014

Gently, gently. Don't you love bluebird days? I've been on XC skis the last couple of days and the weather was spectacular. Flat calm, around -12C, clear skies, bright sun - I've probably got more colour now than I have in the summer!

    Mileage reporting 51st week 2013

My normal 5 mile trot to work this morning after 5 inches of snow fell yesterday. The normally treacherous melt-slicked, polished granite flagstones felt positively grippy after the preceding 2 miles of black ice in Central Park
