What beer are you drinking tonight? For the new forum...

Hey Tristan. Good you are still here. I read the reports and posts. I just seems like I don't have much to add. Congrats on your races. I don't drink too many of the flavored beers or ciders. Any of those ciders have less sugar? I did a taste test of Sam Adams and Shiner Oktoberfest...

What beer are you drinking tonight? For the new forum...

You want my long list of excuses? Impatience. I wanted to run Ultras and my feet couldn't handle the rocks. Also, couldn't build my training miles up fast enough barefoot or even in sandals. Work. I marked trails for Ultra races. Would have been too slow barefoot. Injuries. Dealing with...

What beer are you drinking tonight? For the new forum...

Lot of good beer out. Luponic Distortion IPA from Firestone Walker. Haven't been drinking much, trying to lose weight. I allow myself one if I run a min 10 miles for the day (no, I am not barefoot anymore). Makes me enjoy the beer. I was always a guzzler.

Good news OneBite. A couple of the runners over at the Runners World forum have run it, maybe post something there. Course they will all tell you to wear shoes.;)

Climate Change Activist's Barefoot Walk Across America Ends in Tragedy

Am I falling into a troll trap here? Lorri, the Video you posted was very informative, thanks. Your following posts are very aggressive and are doing nothing but turning people off to your lifestyle. Almost religious in a way. I do admit your terms are very entertaining. Carrion, feeders...

    1st BF injury - frostbite

Like this place Tyler. http://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?thread=3344761 That's why I wear shorts over my tights. North wind gets cold where I live.:)

    Transitioning

Your friend's statements are false. He probably wears Hokas. Every case is different, every recovery is different. Shoes may or may not help. You may have to postpone your half marathon. Fellow sufferer here. Had a bad case in one foot during my barefoot years. Have a mild case now in the...

Congrats on your hard work Mike. Always appreciated your advice. Hurry and get on the ask a doc forum (tired of the book promoter).

    1st BF injury - frostbite

Ah, my old post popped up. So that injury ruined the ski season (at least telemark skiing where you are up on your toes) and affected running for months. In fact, 4 years later that second toe still feels funny on the tip. I do not even attempt to run barefoot in cold temperatures any more...

    Best Barefoot Running Books?

I got good info from Chi Running. Also read Ken Bob, Jason, Micheal, and Born to Run (Although that one sparked my Ultra interest more than Barefoot) Looking forward to your book Laura.

    enough training for marathon?

Should be ok, but don't get hung up on numbers. Plan on the mileage, but if you are not feeling it or have any ache or pains, cut it short. Sometimes that close to a race, even one run easy, the benefits of a long run do not outweigh the risk. You know yourself the best. Keep in mind I am...

2016 Plans (Races, Events, Do it Yourself)

I've been trying to train for a marathon (Carlsbad in January) and wow what a difference. Marathons are hard. I'm doing a trans Zion in a few weeks and hopefully a Grand Canyon R2R2R in November.

    enough training for marathon?

Hey Tristan, sorry for my absence, looks like I have some catching up to do. So to be honest, your consistency is a problem and your lack of long runs is a problem. They are problems if you intend to RACE the marathon. If you go out and just run the marathon at a easy pace, enjoy the morning...

2016 Plans (Races, Events, Do it Yourself)

The race went well. Most runners loved the course. I ended up going home after the race, too much work to do (and to be honest, I did not want to sleep in the back of my truck, I'm getting wimpy). I will have to go back in the fall. Hope you had fun adventures there.
