Comment by 'thomaslp' in 'Never ever trainers again'

Hi Scott. That's a nice record you got there. I can't compete with that......yet :) 11 June I am gonna do an official 14K and I will run it BF or in VFF. I think I will break a personal record. When running in trainers my average pace was 5 minutes per km. Now, running in VFF or BF,I often look...

Comment by 'thomaslp' in 'Never ever trainers again'

Hi Pihl, thank you for your advice. My last three runs (5.5K, 9K and 5.5K)were BF not in VFF. I brought a pair of aqua shoes because my feets are notready for gravel roads with big sharp rocks. They are easy to slip in when it is absolutely needed. The news is that my TOFP is gone :) I think I...

    Never ever trainers again

I have been running in VFF for almost 6 weeks. I started feelilng a little pain on the top of my foot so I decided to run in my Asics trainers the rest of the week. I was amazed how much extra energy it takes - and how wrong it felt.Itwas like I had 2 bricks in my shoes. When I came home after...

BF, VFF or trainers....it doesn't matter

I have now been running BF for 5 weeks and I have a feeling that I will never use my trainers again :) I have noticed one thing where BF/VFF is not superior to trainers. If you eat a big meal of nachos and tortillas and go for a 5K immidiatly after you will feel queasy no matter if you run in...

Hi,thank you for all your Hi, thank you for all your input. I have been giving your comments quite some thoughts. Marathon

Hi, I started running BF 4 weeks ago. I just did my first 5K running in VFF :) My main goal is to complete Berlin Marathon in September. I was wondering what distances you are running when preparing for a barefoot marathon? Should I just follow a "normal" marathon program? /Thomas

    One more of the kind

Hi,thank you for your Hi, thank you for your answer. It was helpfull. One thing I noticed is that many books and articles write that you should only run 500 meters a day when beginning BF running. But after reading in this forum and other places on the internet I have figured out that running...

    One more of the kind

Hi from Denmark, I started running in VFF 10 days ago. I have started slowly 1K every second day. I have been running for 2 years and last year I completed 5 ½ marathons. Unfortunately I have suffered from sciatica pain since November. So now I am giving barefoot running a change. I really like...
