    Achilles tendonitis

GRRR Very frustrated... saw the orthopedist two weeks ago. He pushed me off on the MRI, saying he was sure it wasn't a full rupture and it was either small tears or just bad inflammation, but in either case the treatment would not change. I'm sure they are trying to keep unnecesary testing...

    Achilles tendonitis

Thanks for the response. I'll get the MRI as previously mentioned, then maybe see someone in your profession as well, see if I'm all lined up. ;)

    Achilles tendonitis

Thank you so much for the response Dr. Splichal. I have n Appt. with my rheumatologist in a week. I'll push for an MRI then. If he won't order it I'll talk to my PCP. Is the release therapy something I will be able to do at home or with that be something I would have to continue PT for? I...

I still love the show. He's a fun dude. I also love that he's so straight forward about the whole thing.

    Achilles tendonitis

Hello all, Back in June of 2013 I started to experience pain in my left Achilles about 2 miles into my run, fully barefoot. I immediately stopped and walked home. For months I didn't run, tried ice, tried rest, tried massage and nothing did it. In early January I saw my...

    Indoor rock Climbing

Yes exactly. Different terms for the same thing. The official term for a face/head first rappel is "Tactical Rapelling" designed so you can shoot back at people who might be shooting at you as you descend. For people who aren't on a SWAT team or in the special forces, it's generally referred...

    Indoor rock Climbing

quite possibly rappelling is much less friction and pressure on your feet than climbing actually is, many people rappel barefoot off the top of long lead climbs just to get out of very tight constrictive climbing shoes. It's like taking off ski boots or hockey skates after a while. LOL

    Indoor rock Climbing

Let's say that only people with superior technique and skills can probably have much success climbing barefoot. That said, likely you wouldn't find many "old skool' climbers who would pass on the new shoes, given the choice. ;-)

    Indoor rock Climbing

As for barefoot climbing, sure there are people who still do. But the early days of climbing, when people's footwear choices were running shoes, mountaineering boots or nothing, nothing gave a much better rock contact feel and connection. Modern climbing shoes are very form fitting and soled...

    Indoor rock Climbing

Because bouldering, from it's very inception, has focused on short bursts of intense effort and difficulty. They refer to "Problems" instead of "Routes." They seek out and hammer on what would be considered the "Crux" moves on most routes. And gyms feed into that. The top rope routes in most...

    Indoor rock Climbing

Careful. Climbing is one of those slippery activities. I've done both, indoors and out. You can start racking up gear pretty quick once you venture outside. And if you like it, you should. Gym climbing is to outdoor climbing what treadmills are to country roads. That said, keep renting the gym...

An official run is being held in Denver but there are numerous events springing up other places, like the IBRD, for anyone who wants to join in. Anyone doing one?

LOVE THIS! I've never been a fan of their coffee, over roasted to hide inferior flavor, in my opinion. The whole hipster vibe only added to my loathing LOL

Acorns do suck! I whacked one full weight a month ago, was chatting with my son and looking at his feet and didn't realize the feeling until I had taken the acorn full weight into the arch of my foot. ow.
