    Increasing my overall barefoot time

When I have to wear shoes I prefer the Lems Primal, they have a wide toe box, zero lift and look fine.

    Increasing my overall barefoot time

I definitely drive without shoes! It's so much safer. Bare feet helps to keep you awake and you know exactly where the pedals are and how much pressure to apply. Proprioception is the key. Long distance drivers often take their shoes off to help stay alert.

    Invisible ouchie in the heel

Could be plantar fascia. I did the same thing and tore the plantar fascia. I finally ended up with an orthotic.

This is what happens when you don't know how to run barefoot...

I've tried the one shoe off bit. Not good, switching from barefoot landing style to shod style every step is not fun. I check road/track temperature with an infrared thermometer if in doubt. 115 deg. is my maximum.

Plantar Fasciitis: How Runners Can Learn How To Step Out of the Pain

Thanks for posting this TJ I've tried all the prescribed treatments for PF for the last year and a half to no avail. I am going to follow the Sock Doc's methods and see what happens. how did you became a barefooter?

    Cold feet

Living a barefoot life is the key. Never wear shoes indoors. Wear them outdoors only if shopping or dining out. Shovel snow and walk or run in snow as much as possible. Shoes will feel uncomfortably warm even without socks.

A few questions about recovery from Plantar Fasciitis

I've had the same problem for 13 months. I have been running barefeet for over three years. My orthopaedic surgeon recommended rolling the foot on a frozen bottle and various stretching and strengthening exercises. He said I could keep running, however I was not improving after several...

When do you stop stubbing your toes? (warning: graphic bloody toe picture)

Terry, I did the same thing running in the woods. I kicked something and the ring toe first joint swelled up like a grape. I was able to run on it but it hurt and was not healing. I got some 3/4" X 3 1/2" fabric bandages and stuck one end on top of my small toe then went under the injured toe...

    People's reactions when you run

This is not a peoples reactions story, but it made me laugh. It was a hot day so I took my little lab to the park so we could run trails in the shade. The black flies were terrible there was a swarm of twenty or thirty circling Annie's head and biting her ears. We kept running faster but...

    People's reactions when you run

I stopped to buy fresh corn from a roadside stand. The man came out and said "Hey no shirt, no shoes, no service". Then he said "Oh heck we're outside I guess it doesn't matter".:)

A lump of tissue loose in the ball of my foot - clueless here

Have you ruled out sesamoiditis. The small bone (like your knee cap) which is located under the ball of the foot. As I remember, not everyone has these bones.
