Seriously mad!!! I so want to get back out there and run. As of today, my foot is starting to feel pretty good, got all my weight back on it. Tried some running in place... feels okay, so maybe today or tomorrow I can go for a mile or so (it has been almost two weeks now).

Iwas getting up to answer my cell phone... we don't even use the phone jack!!! Trust me, that thing is so gone.
  5. I quit BFR...

... at least for the next few weeks. I broke some toes, but not by running barefoot. So what happened? I did it by getting out of bed. Looks like it is more dangerous for me to get out of bed than to run barefoot. Through the years I've broken 6 to 9 toes getting out of bed half-asleep to go...
  6. Comment by 'jamieguinn' in 'Why I started and IT band results'

Thanks for listing the exercises. My IT band issues have kept me from running for the past two weeks. The best I've been able to decipher from everyone else is to simply rest, but I know there has to be other stuff to do in the wait, like stretching and such.
  7. Funny Incident

Just thought I'd post a short quick incident that happened to me today. I stepped up my mileage this week for barefoot running after a week long rest from running due to ITBS issues. I only went and and ran a mile (a half mile longer than what I had been doing barefoot since Ijust started in...
  8. Comment by 'jamieguinn' in 'Rock Salt'

We haven't had any snow yet... so no salt. My thoughts, though meant more in a comical fashion: At least with the salt you'd know right away if you are not running properly, especially when you start getting it in your wounds... you'll definitely figure out where your spots needed for...
  9. Comment by 'jamieguinn' in 'IT band issues'

I'm having the same issue. I've always had little issues with my right knee (all my injuries always involve my right leg for some reason... I've never had any issues out of my left leg, not even soreness after the longest runs). Please keep us posted... my ITBS is taking me longer to kick...

Thanks for the welcome! I need to add another resolution... find some trails! I love street running, but running barefoot on some natural-surfaced trails looks like a lot of fun.
  11. In the Beginning...

... and so my adventures in barefoot running begin. So far I've done four runs barefoot (the first only a quarter mile, the last three half a mile). I usually do about four runs a week between 5 to 7 miles a pop wearing running shoes (currently I'm in Adidas Gel Nimbus 10s). I started running...
