Mileage Reporting 42nd week of 2012

Well your swimming is an excellent exercise for the upper body, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Is your new pool going to have one of those wave machines in it? It looked a little short in the photo for triathalon training (not that I know anything about swimming--I just like to splash about).
It will have a current generator, which can be set to varying flow rates, depending on how fast I can swim. No turning around at the end of a lap, which will be much more like open water swimming.

I have to admit, you guys are very focused with your routine....I just run, can't get myself onto a weight training routine, even though I am sure my belly would be happy to shed some cm's !! :-D

Are you having all this equipment at home, or are you going to the gym ?
My condo has a gym that I go to. Not a lot of equipment in there, mostly a few different sizes of dumbbells (which is what I prefer anyway) and a couple different benchs and a catch all machine that I'm not wild about and only use for a couple of exercises. As far as focus goes, I guess I was kind of a meathead a decade a go and used to lift a lot, mostly high weights. I would bench close to 300lbs, shoulder shrug 550lbs, and just a lot of stupid heavy stuff just because I could. I used to do 3 a days (go to gym 3 times a day) in the gym with just a short 1-2 mile run each day, 6-7 days a week. After 2 back surgeries I could care less now about the heavy weights and I just focus on complementing my running with the weights and I do lower weight exercises slow and easy and concentrate on form. Guess as I get older and see how much I abused my body before and broke it, I am just trying to be over all healthy.

4.25 damp barefoot miles, I went out pretty fast today (for me mind you) which was fine but I really slowed down the last mile uphill as I was starting to get fatigued. So much for slow and easy... I also forgot how the moisture from rain helps polish my soles to a nice super smooth and soft leather. I also did about an hour in the gym.

Wow, all this workout and running posting all ready and it is only the first day of the week. Guess its time to add my 7.86 miles of night time running. A glorious 12 degrees tonight, kills my Cold Weather Running, but who's complaining.;)

1 mile this morning. Power was out so it was pitch black out, made for a interesting run as there was no moon to see by. It was a chore just to grope around for my running gear. Good thing I did not have to look for shoes. Never would have found them. :D I will go out in the afternoon with some sunshine to makeup for the lack of miles this morning.

No running miles today but a half hour of intervals on the stationary bike bf plus an hour of weight lifting in the gym. Today was back, shoulders, legs, and abs day. Now I'm wiped out and ready for an afternoon nap. Thinking tomorrows run may have to be in my sandals as the cut I got yesterday on the ball of my left foot is a little worse than I had originally thought yesterday. A little tender today.

Oh, and I am going to try to see if there are replacement pedals for the stationary bike online, because if there are they would be awesome for my road bike and I would be able to ride barefoot or in whatever footwear I choose. I don't even ride my road bike anymore because I can't find wide enough shoes and it hurts so much to wear the normal narrow bike shoes.

All said and done I got 28.8mi in. So close to finally breaking 30. Probably wont be able to pull that one off again for a while, going to be out of town next week for work conference, then the following week is my 72hr week. So far this week is = 0 miles. So not a great start so far. Got called in both yesterday and today for 12's (well 14 hrs door to door). And with my lack of sleep these past couple nights I can barely function.

Tomorrow suppose to be the last nice day of fall (76 degrees) here so I'll try and get out for a run finally this week.

6 miles at sunset. legs still cramped and knotted, which wasn't that bad, but the worst was the wheezing asthma attack I started having the last mile or so from the people around here burning so many leaves, and on a windy day, of course. Waaaaaaaaaaaa
我的女兒也有asthma。;) Don't mind me. I'm trying to slowly and patiently learn Mandarin Chinese and sometimes I have the keyboard in that mode and it shows up and I just "go with it." Helps me study. Don't start talking to me in Chinese. I don't know that much! But I think I said: My daughter also has asthma.:p

Okay, after a tutoring/problem solving session with my husband on Google Earth, I am happy to report that I ran 8.15 miles (he says count on GE being off + or - 5%) And that without my whole big toe nail on the left foot! ha ha ha
I am VERY happy with this mileage. Didn't know it was so far. PLUS it means I managed an average 9:35minute/mile even though I had to significantly slow down a 2-3 times for a length of gravel/chip seal and to take 3 burrs out of my feet. :D I might have to blog about it. :)

Damn, I thought it said, "@^&%#$%@$% asthma", lucky I didn't try to translate that one for my son.
