We were at a friends house last night for a family holiday gathering and I was greeted just inside with a chilled Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. He practicaly apologized for not having the IPA, so without thinking I started thanking him and telling him about the new site I had discovered. He had more will power than Lomad, he instantly stuck his fingers in his ears and started whistling/humming to block out any adverse info he might be taking in. We moved on to single malt scotch and then to the even petier stuff, and I STILL have'nt clicked on to the liquor link on that same site. Wouldn't want to ruin that as well!
But did find out today.........Arcadia Ales Sky High Rye is 80% barley, and only 20% rye! Kind of like whole wheat bread/buns/rolls I guess. 95%white flour, 5% whole grain, so...............whole wheat on the label.
I wonder what a 100% rye beer tastes like?

I'm sticking with wine this evening. Working on a bottle of Barbera d'Alba. Thanks for encouraging me to stop by tonight, Longboard. I'm still around. LB, you'll enjoy this story... The manager at a local restaurant that I frequent told me he had a customer complain to him last week about me being there barefoot. The customer was being a real jerk about it and threatened to call the health department if the manager didn't ask me to leave. The manager stood his ground and told the guy no. I thanked the manager for his support when he told me this and explained that there was nothing the health department would/could do even if the guy had called them. The manager laughed and replied, "Yep, that's exactly what the health department told me when they called in response to the jerk's complaint." :)

I used to believe that the "a customer complained" story was always made up by the manager, but sometimes it really IS true. I also had a manager stick up for us this year when there really WAS a customer complaint! It was a regular who is always plowed, really nice looking middle aged lady but barely intelligible after her first couple 'o drinks. And get this....she has chatted with us before about our feet and sure acted like she thought it was cool!
I think she was just attention starved that night and used the complaint threat as an "in" to a conversation.
Welcome back Karen!

Unlike so many people with good taste, I'm not a big fan of hops. I'm more into brown ales and malt. I had Sam Adams Hazel Brown last night, which did have a touch of hops, and that was quite fine.
I never used to be into hoppy beers. It's only been the last couple years that I've grown to like them. I've always really liked my stouts and heavy dark beers though.

Full Sails Session Black Lager. Really need it after that math class with that teacher. Ughhhhh! Gonna be a long long long term...
I like that beer Nick. A dark beer, but not nearly as heavy as a porter or stout. Another good black lager is Baba by Uinta if you can find it up in your area.

For me, I have been enjoying Stone IPA. I really like it. Not as sweet as some of the other syrup IPA's.

I've never seen the Baba black lager, I'll keep an eye out for it. I really like Stone beers a lot, but it's just so expensive I don't get it much. Can't afford $5 a beer anymore, reminds me of when I lived in HI where beer is super expensive to drink in a bar.

Today seemed like an Autumn Brown day, so Sierra Nevada Tumbler it was.

Thats actually my first attempt at HDR photography. Way too much work for a picture of a beer but just learned it and nothing else to try it on.

I like hdr photo's, surprised this software can handle it... It can't handle just my Iph photos... I always have to crop and resize way small, so when taking a pic that I know I am uploading on here I intentionally have to make sure I am zoomed out so I can crop and still fit what I was really taking a pic of.
