A growing discomfort with traditional shoes

I have noticed something odd lately that is interesting to me...I work as a stockman at a department store and thus I am on my feet all day. After asking on like my second day of work they told me that I could not wear my VFF's (sad face) and so I went and bought a cheap pair of tennis shoes to work in. Keep in mind that I rarely wear tennis shoes, or any shoe at that, that has arch support. I usually only wear my VFF or a pair of extremely broken in Vans that are practically minimalist shoes now haha. Anyway the first day I wore my new work shoes, by the end of my shift (about 4 hours) my arches were on fire!! I took my shoes off and stood barefoot for a moment and I could literally feel my arches stretching back out like they are supposed to be. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this before? And as a side note, I wore my vans the next day and my arches felt fine after the same period of time. To me this just reinforces the concept of barefoot living. What do ya'll think?

I have found buying shoes to be a real pain, literally. I have found that Hang Ten has the best selection of shoes that doesn't have the arch support and has lots of room for my toes.

Yip. Only shoes i can buy in a shoe store lately are those strappy super thin flat sandals that look like huaraches but have a bit of a stiffer bottom; they are trendy for ladies now so i get away with them, and will try to in as cold a temp as poss.
good luck with toe covering shoes.
try soft stars pricey but well made by oregon hippies, flat, wide as trucks for your toes to splay.
