First barefoot 5k under my belt!

I'll write up a race report tomorrow but just needed to share that I just finished my first 5k barefoot all the way and feel really good!

(well, apart from one or two scuffed toes, that is...)

Varied course underfoot (Tarmac, dirt track, gravel and clay grit) which made it interesting, and my absence of footwear drew a few smiles - or jokes!

Very positive experience all round and I doubt I'd've dared were it not for the evidence on this forum that it CAN be done and be fun, so a big thank you to you all here.

PS: and I didn't come last :)

Love your enthusiasm and that you found inspiration here. Congrats! :barefoot:

Thanks Neil - I regret trying a kick at the end, but it did feel good to cruise past a bunch of runners and show them not only my heels, but the dirt all over them ;)

It has taught me just how much work I have to do, though, if I am to keep this up and achieve my ambition of running a marathon this way. Lots of work ahead.
