Hi All,

I've been on the runners world barefoot forum for a while... in fact, I'd just returned to it after a 12 month break - it seems pretty quiet over there now, and I was tipped off that this is where a lot of folks have moved to. A pity that many of the blogs I've read are still pointing to your old URL!

My BFR history has been the usual painful story of TMTS, but after 12 months with no running, I've been slowly building back up. so slowly, that I still haven't ran more than about 1 mile - and that is gym treadmill stuff... not that I'm a fan on BFR on a treadmill... or treadmills at all.

anyway, I've got a coaching session with barefoot UK tomorrow evening, so I'm looking forward to learning - and hopefully improving my form.

fingers crossed it wont be too long before I can go running proper (bfr of course).

Cheers

Adam

Welcome!

TJ: Are you going to let this poor guy stand with Adam, or does he get a TJ-anointed moniker from his screen name?

Adam (or whatever TJ ends up dubbing you) - welcome to the crew. As you've learned - like too many of us - take it slow (and "smooth, easy and light" - Micah True) and steady and you'll get there. Glad to have you with us.

Phil

Having a hard one with this one, Phil. Farmershort. He's apparently a small farmer from the UK. Hmmm, what can we do with this? What can we do with this?

There does seem to be an abundance of UKers here lately. Hee.

Not at all. I'm lovin' it!

wow! thanks for all the welcomes! great to see so many UK BFRers now! It certainly wasn't like this 12 months ago on RW!

I had my coaching session with Barefoot Running UK last night on Clapham common! I really wasn't sure what to expect, having never had any sort of sports coaching before (I'm sure scuba diving training doesn't count!). I have to say I came away with a much greater appreciation of what was involved in BFR. I had read a tonne of stuff on the internet (as most noobs do), but none of it compared to having people analysing your form in person, and tutoring you with a combination of drills, theory, technique tips, practice... etc. I'm looking forward to putting what they taught me into practice. On top of all that, Anna and David seem like genuinely lovely people. I'm also sure I'll be going back to them for further sessions to widen my horizons!

Adam (until TJ thinks up something better)

Until it grabs me, I'm going to have to go with, FS, or Fs. See what I did there? Hee. I made a "short" s.

Maybe we can go with Barefoot Farmer later, once he earns his feet.

barefoot farmer sounds good.... i'll have to get running then....

1st post-course run planned for tomorrow evening. I've been stretching all weekend to try and lengthen my poxy tight achilles tendons & soleus muscles.

Okay, Barefoot Farmer it is, but don't be surprised if I call you Farmer. ;)
