It's contagious

running bare3foot awakened a true love for running that has continued into my return to shod running. Though it didn't work out for me overall, i wouldn't trade my barefoot experience for any price, for that very reason. I love running like i haven't in YEARS. This would not have happened had I not spent a year barefootin'.

Nick, my wife said the same thing until the other day. She listens to audiobooks on her way to work but finished her last one so she grabbed my copy of "Born to Run" and was intrigued. I guess it was just a matter of time.

Nice! Seems like a good discussion for the general BFR forum to me :barefoot:

My wife will run on the treadmill occasionally in her socks. When she goes for walks she always goes barefoot. She has asthma so she doesn't do too much running, I need her to have her breath for other activities.;)

Ok, I'm thrilled that she is doing this but I think she's doing too much and I don't want her to get discouraged. I think if I gave her something to read about transitioning it would help. What do you think the best article/thread would be to present? I know I already found the best forum!

Born to Run the book, those chapters that cover the "ill" of shoes and the benefits of less shoe.

Born To Run was the book that convinced her to try barefoot running, she loved it! Now I need some reading that will make her aware of the importance of transitioning slowly. I'm trying not to give too much advice myself because, first of all, I'm new to this too, and second I don't want it to look like I'm trying to take control of her experience.
