A month ago I stopped running due to knee pain. Yesterday I found out there was a 10k and I will run it. Barefoot.
I suppose I will start by running on the beach. Put in some miles on there and get the mojo of running again. Then slowly transition to the road where I could try 8k 4 days before the race. Rest for a while and stay up on my feet all day.
What do you guys think?

Whatcha smokin'?

With my pain, I could probably get a prescription for it. ;) Don't know if it would be the "good stuff" though.

I think any realtively fit person should be able to run 10k at any given time.
I could do that 'anytime' with shoes but it took me 8mos to get up to 10k bare... that might not apply to Rus but to someone in general out on the net reading this thread dont want them to fall into the tmts problems like stress fractures or something from trying to run 10k barefoot for the first time going bare...

do you want to run the rest of your life or one race?

I kind of agree with both of the more extreme opinions. I think, yeah, you can do it, and it won't even be such a big deal. But then ... why?

Hahahaha! That's what I was thinking. I think that is Mike's favorite saying!
I have had to chant it to myself on more than one occasion. :) I think it's pretty ingenious. I wonder who he stole it from? ;)

i don't know if i made it up or read it. i do use it as my mantra and haven't been injured other than a bruise or stress reaction, from pushing too much for a race.

you've heard some of the crazy things i concoct so you never know. chicken or egg.

that's you in the green hat??

I did notice that....but I saw the knee wrap first....lol
