How many Sport Kilt wearers are there.

Here is a question for you Kilt-fanatics...I am running primarily in shorties right now and I am having some issues with my quads rubbing and causing chaffing. I dont know if this is more a result of not having worn shorties before and needing the skin to toughen up? The only way to prevent this right now is plenty of vasoline or body glide, so I was curious if this bothered Kilt guys too or maybe just goes away after awhile for anybody?

In ya'lls experience, what is the best kilt for running? Please don't say "sport kilt" the darn web site has hundreds of styles...

The Sportkilt hiking kilt is what was recommeneded to me when I was looking for one. I got one and it works great, it is a sports dry type of material. I didn't choose any of the add-on options, but I would probably go with the sewn down pleats if I get another.

I have 2 Sport Kilts, one is a micro fibre material have used that one for a couple of marathons and an ultra. The other one is the Hash House Harriers series it is a little heavier so I use it for my HHH runs or for shorter runs when it is cooler. I always go regimental. ;)
Why have I never heard of these??? Where would one go to buy a sports kilt? This is awesome!

Barefoot running has introduced me to the concepts of sport kilts, the Paleo diet, and sit-stand desks. I've bitten on the second two (OK, a watered-down version of the Paleo diet, and I don't use the stand part of the sit-stand desk as much as I should), but can't quite wrap my mind around the first one.

I chuckle that I have mixed emotions about these and it's all based on the skirt/kilt thing. I mean, when I bicycle I wear bibs which pretty much lets the world know how fat your are, what religion you subscribe to and how kind your God was to you (or unkind, however the case may be). Kilts are exponentially less revealing yet...well, there's this damn hangup. Part of me thinks that I just need to mull it around in my head for a bit and go for it, but then part of me treats it like Bath Salts and says "Not even once." Even sillier is the fact that The Pirate looked at 40 last year, so I'm well past the point that I should give a Foxtrot what other folks think.

Yeah, but bibs are the ONLY way to go on a bike, really. Especially for those among us not built like a pro cyclist. Kilts do make mooning the smartarses in passing cars a simpler affair, though, so there is a practical application to the kilt that I do like.

So, when you looked at 40, who blinked first?

40 blinked first - I was out in Moab at the time, showing 40 what it was all about...but now 40 is sitting behind me flicking my ear and saying "douchebagsayswhat?", which is irritating...
