This is Nikes 'Huarache Free Run'
Nike-Huarache-Free-Run-Mens-Shoe-510801_101_A.jpg

hua·ra·che- a Mexican sandal having the upper woven of leather strips.

I mean, this shoe isnt even mexican!

I stand corrected, after looking for more pics on the web I see that it actually does have like a thin material in the back... Still ugly as hell.

It's a Chinese Huarache, that's the difference.

It's offensive. WTH is wrong with Nike?! What don't they get?!

My husband says it qualifies..."It has a bare heel, after all." Argh!

*Looks at picture, looks at Invisible shoe on his desk and back to the picture.* Yup. Looks about right.

This is mere update on an almost 20 year old line of Nike shoes. They had a full Air Huarache(tm) series of shoes that went through almost all of their sports lines. They were ugly then as they are now. 'Huarache' came from the plasticky sling around the heel and was supposed to be a lighter approach to shoes. The old ones had a very thin neoprene like bootie inside a framework that did actually resemble a sandal.../shoe nerd lecture.

kinda makes me wonder what their rendition of wooden clogs would be

I'm fairly certain that if Nike did make a wooden clog it would have Tiger's name all over it. "Tiger's Woods!"
