What else do you do besides running?

I can totally sympathize with you about the foot surgery, Dama. I'm sure you will heal just fine. Did they say what caused it?

TJ as far as I know there is no explanation for it. It could be hereditary but no one in my family has this type of weirdness.
This is how my foot looks but this is not my foot I have nicer looking feet...:)

Ouch! what is recovery from that surgery like??

According to my Podiatrist is only two weeks but I highly doubt it.
I can't see it been all healed up in two weeks when they shave the bones out.
But if is true that it all takes two weeks-I'll take it.

Sounds like good news if I've ever heard it :barefoot:
Good luck!

Thanks Zetti

Did it come out of nowhere? I mean you were running barefoot very fast and incredibly long fairly recently.
How long ago did you first realize that there was a problem?

My biggest Craigslist score was a model B conecpt II for free. It was an older one but worked well. I thought I was a cool guy for having a rowing machine, but it turns out I hardly ever used it. Ended up selling for $100, bought climbing shoes, I get more use out of those.

make $ to supporrt running, food, shelter, 3 kids etc. Work to make $ for me shouuld be the one that involves constant body movement certainly not desk job. Active work helps my running and running helps my active work. Since doing run commuting / around 20km /day I find it uncomfortable sitting down , its either I'm standing moving or I'm on the floor sleeping.

Whew...way behind on this one.

Hey Dama! I hope you heal up quickly and get back to running.

I wish I had a Concept II rower. I love that thing. I pretend I'm a Viking invading some weaker society and it makes me row harder.

I do CrossFit in addition to the running.

I wonder how my wrist would do with rowing. I think I have some serious arthritis or carpal tunnel going on.

Dama, are they sure that's not a ganglion cyst? Have they tried to see if they could drain it? I have one on my wrist now, and yes, it seemed to pop up out of nowhere, although I'm sure I just wasn't looking at my wrists all the time, I mean why would I when I am always looking at my feet?, but anywho, I hear when they come around the wrists they could be related to arthritis.

And yes, I know you have pretty feet. I remember and teased you that you should be our foot model for the foot jewelry we were wanting to make.

Does it hurt?

Probably wouldn't work then, but it might be worth giving a try. I haven't felt any stresses in my wrist or hands, just some in my elbow. Make sure to try rowing in neutral position (like a lat bar instead of a pull down bar) if the straight bar gives you trouble. I found that to be a big help. Hope you and Dama are feeling better soon!

Just the slightest anything in my hands sometimes causes my wrist to hurt. I have the same problem with both the right and the left. I picked up a toy the other day, and my wrist felt like it was going to snap off.

In Feb when I was having the EMG for the arm numbness it confirmed the spinal nerve encroachment as the culprit, but during the testing the doc casually mentioned "By the way you have carpal tunnel syndrome as well, not surprising given your age and profession" Great.
I also figured I'd get a quick free explanation of my weird elbow symptoms I've been aware of for a while.
"Oh, that's easy, that's a form of elbow arthritis. Not surprising at all given your age and other osteoarthritis history"
For all my adult life Dr. Kevorkian had lived just 10 minutes away from me.
Why did he have to check out?
