OMGosh! God bless them, but am I wrong in hoping we don't come across this way?

http://www.copenhagenbarefoot.dk ~ Barfodsløb ~ May 27th 2012. Barefoot Copenhagen is a barefoot race in the center of Copenhagen Denmark. Barfodsløb København, hvis du vil prøve kræfter med naturligt løb.

Having marched to the beat of my own little drummer for many years, I have come to believe that it's better to just do what you do, setting an example and being open to curious questions than it is to preach . . . just one opinion. . .

I think this was made to be comical...correct me if I'm wrong...
I got a good laugh out of it...:D

I thought it could be a joke too, but they are great actors if it is, as they have their live audience completely fooled.

Zetti, I think you're right. As my wife, a Brit, would say, "They're taking the piss out of us." Around here it would be put "Pulling our legs." That's not to imply that they don't have a point they'd like to make.

It might also be that the very critical lady was a real life reactionary. I imagine that a BF protest in winter in Denmark would indeed come across as deeply wrongheaded. All in good fun, though.

They seemed to be having fun =)
as it has been said many times before, "Some people get confused when the sentence does not end as they potato”

Heh heh heh. A protest - not a bad idea to draw attention to barefootedness. My sign would say, "Burn your bra AND your shoes!" :)

Some of us in the Oregon chapter are running the Cinco de Mayo run on May 6th. We should make signs and carry them around like dorks, after the race. In case racing barefoot wasn't enough. :D

+1 on this...I think they overthrottled on the earnesteness for comic effect....

...but yes, Virginia - we do look like that to some folks (sans accent and furry blue hat, that is...)

Cinco de Ma... May 6? Cinco? Seis? Cinco de Seiso? If you say so...I'm all confused now... so now we gonna look like weirdos that can't read a calendar...wow - our public image is just soaring! Yay us! :barefoot:

Hey now, I'm not the person who arranged this race. ;) It is an "outside entity". Portland only ever has their street races on Sunday mornings -and May 6th is the closest Sunday to May 5th. I suspect that is due to Sunday mornings having the least traffic. I am now one of those people I used to cuss out for causing a shut-down of city streets. Lol. But what could be better than beer drinking in celebration of Cinco De Mayo TWO days in a row? So I guess a lot of people are going to be running with hangovers. Lol.
