I just realized I created my profile on this site 2 years ago but never actually bothered to post anything (or even here in the introductions forum).

I have been a barefoot hiker for a while and then moved to barefoot running. Even did some trail barefoot running at some point ... but it all lasted for about 6 months in 2010.

Haven't done any ever since but ... I am trying to find a way to get back into it ...

So, here I am and hello everyone!

:)

Welcome. You will find lots of support here to help you get back into it. Hopefully, the NJ Chapter will have some group runs coming up too, so be sure to check your chapter and the calendar now and again.

Thank you all for your welcome.

Welcome or should I say welcome back I'm also from NJ I usually run trails in Brendan Byrne state forest in Burlington county where do you run?

I used to live in the Edison area.

I JUST moved to Glen Ridge/Montclaire and I am still trying to find my bearings.

There's plenty of parks in driving distance up north/west. I need to find one that is close enough and/or nice enough to run.

This weekend I went to Russia Brook by Stockholm but it's a bit of a long drive. I gotta find something equally nice but closer.

You are not that far from Tabernacle though ... I sometimes go visit friends that live there and I stay overnight for the weekend ... maybe one of these weekends that I happen to come down there we can run together?

I run a trail with a group 10 minutes from Tabernacle. The Mt. Misery trail in Brendan Byrne state forest Near the Rt.70 Rt. 72 intersection.Sunday mornings at 7:30 - 8:00am 10 mile loop easy pace with 2 water stops. It would be cool if you could join sometime. Let me know. This weekend I'll be at the Boston Barefoot Running Festival and the 29th I'll be running the Tough Mudder in PA but all others I should be there.

This trail in Brendon T. State forest is very barefoot friendly and so are the fellow runners so i'd definetly recommend a visit.

Just saying from experience.
Good to know. Thanks for the info.

I am really looking for barefoot friendly places where I can run or hike in NJ. Most of the time I prefer state parks that are out of the way so that there's nobody else there to bother me.

But if anybody knows of barefoot friendly towns or parks in NJ, I'd be glad to hear more.

One more thing: I will be coming down to Tabernacle 5/18 to 5/20 and generally try to go visits my friends in Tabernacle at least once a month ...

Now that I know you guys hang out there I'll try to come down more often if I can manage it ... if you guys want to organize a group run.

Word of warning: my average is about 9:30 to 10:00 a mile sustained for up to 10 miles ... these days ... so I'm not exactly fast nor durable.
