Stepped on the scale this morning, and my jaw about dropped. 200.4 lbs! Only 1/2 pound from reaching my first goal of getting under 200 lbs! I haven't been this lightweight in nearly a decade I think.

Looking at the app I use for weight tracking on my iPhone, I have dropped 8 pounds in just 1 month, nearly 15 total since I started this fitness journey. And I owe 100% of it all to my life-changing decision to kick off the shoes last summer. Without that (and this site of course!!! :D ) I'd never be where I am today.

Now to my next goal - get under 185, hopefully before our Florida trip in August!.

I tell ya what, I have NEVER been into fitness and healthy living before starting my barefoot journey. When I used to go to the gym (the few months that I went) it was a major chore doing it, I barely lost any weight, and it was NOT fun at all. Now I look forward to my runs every day. Sure it's still hard for me while actually doing it, but I think being barefoot keeps me coming back to it and actually wanting to make progress. I think if I were to use running shoes and never do barefoot again, I would probably quit after not too long.

Nice work! Its a great feeling to make progress and enjoy the journey as well! Keep it up

That's great news! Congrats, Patrick!

Fantastic results, Patrick. Do you use Lose It!? I found that app for my Droid: it's a great tool.

Nope, see sig.

*edit* n/m different type of app. I have a couple of apps similar to that but never could get into tracking food/calories. I throw stuff together for dinner lots of times and just don't feel like trying to figure out the stats. Plus I don't have any kind of food scale so it would be a little difficult to measure out serving amounts sometimes.

woohoo!!!!

Nice Pat, I'm 180lbs and under for the first time in 15 years since i joined the running people and now i'm free of knee pain and shin splints since december 2011 from running bare. Glad to hear of your success!

Yeah now I'm just hoping this thorn I caught in my foot last night and the bit of swelling around the area doesn't hinder progress in the near future...

That's a neat picture!

Although...thinking about it, that camera may be weighing you down. You could be at 198. ;)

lol nah I knew it was 199 before getting the camera, so I remembered to step off before taking the pic (display stays on several seconds).

And yeah the scale itself looks pretty cool, almost like a big square iPad :p
