What are You Listening to Now BRSers?

Just got to work, Brand Nubian is my choice to get the morning started.

Today it's been a mix of things. Even more Periphery mixed with Robert Cray and Thelonious Monk.

Wideguy: Have you listened to the album Bonamassa did with Beth Hart last year, Don't Explain? His guitar and her voice is a perfect combination IMO.

As for myself, this is what I'm listening to today:

Yeah I listened to some of it. "Well Well" is an excellent track. It was all a bit more...refined.. than his solo stuff, not as powerful, but still very good.

EDIT: I take that back. "sinner's prayer" is exceptional and she is killer on that!

Man, some really strange taste among the weirdo, hippy barefoot crowd. I like just about any kind of music, but here are a couple that I've been listening to recently...probably won't make much headway with most. I run a little angrier than many according to my wife:

Crimfall:

Karen O & Trent Reznor remake of an old classic (This is my Concept2 Rowing song. I row better pretending to be a viking.)

Cypress Hill (been around, but surprising how many people don't know who they are) This is a good one for multiple box jumps or burpee box jumps:

That's his actual voice.

Talon: Celtic black metal? Interesting.

Phil: As Talon says it's his voice. Kind of. The sound isn't really created by the vocal cords but rather further back and up in the throat. If you do it right you should be able to switch back and forth between normal singing and growling, as it's called, without your normal voice being affected by your sounding like you just swallowed a weed whacker. ;)

Wideguy: I admit I'm not really a Bonamassa fan so for me it strikes a pretty much perfect balance with him being a bit more restrained and Hart a little bit more rough than what I've heard from her solo stuff. And yes, Sinner's Prayer is an awesome version of the song. It's actually one of my favorite blues songs and their version is certainly one of the best I've heard.

I pretty much always listen to Above & Beyond's Trance Around The World free weekly 2-hour podcast set when driving or running.
