Official BRS Logo Contest

We have had several, wonderful submissions entered into our Official BRS Logo Contest. It's hard to choose! Do your best though, and pick your favorite.

You will vote for the grouping, so if there is more than one logo in a group, all of the logos will go together as a whole submission.

This poll will close on March 30, 2012, at 1:40 p.m.

Note: Some of these are still being finalized, for example, the one with just four toes; if it wins, it will have a fifth toe added! ;) Of course, the sizes will be adjusted according to its use.

Is it just me or does the dude in #10 have shoes on? And is he carrying broccoli?

I like 7 but I don't like red and black. Once we have a logo, can we then have a new vote on a color scheme?

As far as I understood after the logo was picked we would change site to that colors. I was hoping to get away from the black and red. But if that is what you all like then so be it.

The blue and white color has grown on me personally.

I really don't think it's a good idea to be discussing prefeences in a poll thread. People should make up their minds without being influenced by commetary.

Also, yes, the litte guy in #10 is wearing shoes, but he'll be taking them off soon, lol. It's a little tricky, but it should be done over the weekend.

ALL of the logos can and probably will be tweaked after the decision is made. Think of it more as voting for an idea. A well-thought out idea, but not a finished, inflexible product.

Colors are totally irrelevant at this point.

The contest ends on the 30th (seven days).

And you are right, Willie, it's not right to allow conversations about the entries as that could sway the voting. I wasn't sure if I closed the thread if that would also lock the poll too. I'm still learning. Matt?

EVERYONE, please, let's keep our personal comments to ourselves about preferences, perceptions, etc. Thank you.

I kinda think that discussing the entries is helpful. If we were voting on a poster contest or something else that the sole purpose was to win an award, then I would understand not wanting to discuss the entries, but since this will be the logo representing us as a community and we will probably be wearing the shirts, sporting the stickers, etc. I think discussion would be just fine. This is more of a group decision, not a contest, right?

Just my opinion.

well... too late for the poll, but here are two more ideas, with the little guy sans shoes....

@Ram - yeah, I see your point, I guess it does make sense to discuss in the sense of a virtual staff meeting.

Jen - yeah, I'm thinking it's a pretty good compromise color. My cousin's wife made those two. She was supposed to work the other one over a bit but decided that the text-in-foot-form gimmik, although spiffy, was just not readable enough, and she slapped together a quick idea.

She says blood red is not a very confidence-inspiring color if you're trying to make a case for barefoot running, lol. I see her point!

Hah! Unless she makes that little dude jumping up and down holding his toe and cussing profanities. My husband also pointed out to me that red, black, and white are heavily associated with martial arts, so if we want to be different... I really like that logo and I think that TJ should put it on the official poll, even though it's past the "official" deadline. HUH? :D

Can't do that, Jen. The software won't let me add anything to the poll, which makes sense. I had already tried for Huang who was late in submitting his too. Besides, I had already extended the deadline by a week, since a few of the contestants were still working on theirs. We had to proceed with the contest.

We can talk about color choices later, you all, perhaps even vote on those. Let's concentrate on the design first. Okay? (BTW, red and black together are known as power colors and are very common in graphic illustrations, if you were wondering.)
