Vanessa Runs and myself signed up for the Oriflamme 50k here in San Diego for this upcoming Saturday and then I noticed there was another 50k being held on Sunday up in the Bay area. This is a challenge I've wanted to tackle for a few years and so we signed up for the double. Yes folks, that will be 2 50k races in one weekend.
A couple chats and messages later, and we convinced Krista and Pablo to join us for the SanFran run (Rodeo Valley 50k). As it turns it, the Robillards will be in the bay area during this time and decided to sign up for Rodeo Valley as well. But the Robillards being the Robillards will not allow Vanessa and I to one up them and so they will be doing a 50k training run the day before.

And so it becomes a nice BRS meetup at the Rodeo Valley 50k this Sunday! Come join us if you are in the area and don't forget to bring your Trail Gloves. :barefoot:

Haha! Glad you guys are handicapping yourselves for sunday but I guess since I don't run much I could compete with your back to back by doing 500 squats before the race on sunday. Or... maybe not. Ha!

You guy are crazy :-D. Do you normally fly up to SF or drive? I won't lie the idea of sitting in a car or airplane after a 50k makes me cringe a bit. In a month you could do it again with the San Juan and Skyline to the Sea 50Ks. I love California and their ridiculous amounts of 50k. One of these days I'm going to have to join you for one of these adventures.

We are flying. It's a short flight and 50ks don't tax the body like they used to. Plus we've been told that there will be beer awaiting our arrival.

There is a storm floating into San Diego this weekend and we've been told there is a chance that the Oriflamme race may get cancelled. It'll be a Saturday morning decision. Even if the race is held, it's not going to be a pretty one. Vanessa and I may opt for the early start (6am rather than 7am) just to ensure we finish and get to the airport on time.

Man... I have Ultra envy of you Cali guys...

Sounds like a great time! Have fun!!!

This race was good times! AJB, you should totally join us for one of these someday! I'm in the process of writing up a race report on my blog soon.

I used to be a Cali guy, well girl. I mean, I'm still a girl, just not in Cali. :(

Share your report here, Mrs. Zap, and I'll get it on the home page.

Haha! TJ - I'm afraid my post is not suitable for BRS (as are most of my posts) You would have to edit A LOT to make it "safe" for the masses.
