Anyone ever had http://www.airrosti.com/? I went to the doc today. He said I could sit out a few weeks and RICE for my ITBS... like I should have done a month ago, or do the airrosti. 1-3 treatments and I should be good to go. My co-worker did it and loved it but it is apparently quite painful. Looking forward to tomorrow!! Gonna take a week or 2 off running unless it works real quick.

So I had my first treatment

So I had my first treatment today. They basically use their hands to do what a roller does on your IT band but it hurts about 15 times worse. Then they have you go roll on a roller and take one home and use KT tape to tape you up. About 2-3 treatments is what they said I need about a week apart. But they want me to start running now and record the pain and all so they can know what to be doing as we go.

Even after insurance, it is EXPENSIVE AS HELL. But I did a little jog and have no hint of ITBS right now, but it was just 50 yards. So I will try a short slow run. If I feel any pain, I am supposed to stop, do some stretches, and start again. I thought I would keep track of this on here since ITBS is a big issue and this seems to be a little know treatment.

Good, I hope this take care

Good, I hope this take care of bussines.

When you say "EXPENSIVE AS HELL" can you give some money #'s.

Sounds a lot like Active

Sounds a lot like Active Release Technique (http://www.activerelease.com/). I've had that and you are not kidding about being painful (only needed two sessions btw). The guy that did mine also told me it is not a fix for the root problem. I had (have) some imbalance and integration issues. Followed his exercises and advice to take up yoga and havent had much trouble for the last eight months.

It is $175 for the first

It is $175 for the first visit and $131 each visit after that. I'm used to $25 co-pays at the most and $40 for specialists, so that is pretty high for me.

Wow, that is a lot out of

Wow, that is a lot out of pocket money.

Maybe it has to do with the Health insurance you have, with my insurance all I pay is ten bucks regardless of the procedure done.

Even MRI's are ten bucks for me.

Good luck with your healing.

Yeah. It is rather good

Yeah. It is rather good health insurance, and it is my only choice. I pay pretty little for a family and it won't go up as I add kids, so it evens out. But it for state employees and they had to cut last year. A lot of my co-workers complain but I know people who work for the private industry that pay wayyy more.... but..... they cut things that are caused by active people hurting themselves instead of fat people things. But I digress.

I gotta be honest. I am pretty amazed. They said try out a run today so I can tell them how it felt. I made it 5 miles with almost no pain. And I had pain walking this morning before I did it.
