Much like sniffing milk you know has gone sour...

Unless its Kefir, then it's all grey area LOL

Maybe ditch the VFFs, just wear them for casual wear and find a different pair of minimal running shoes. Thank goodness there's a quick rise in minimal shoes, LOTS out there now. Good luck finding the one that works best for you ;)

FWIW, it took me a long time to figure out how to run in shoes after I'd run without them for so long. It'll come, it's all a matter of what you learn to do with that sour milk ;) Cultured milk can be very good for you if you know what you're doing with it :p

Welcome back, Miss Zum!

Welcome back, Miss Zum! Girlfriend, I have missed you!

I'll never forget the first

I'll never forget the first time I wore VFFs and thought, "WOAH! I can really feel the ground in these!"

Two weeks later I ditched the VFFs and started 100% barefoot.

I'll never forget the first time I put my VFFs back on after several months of barefoot and thought, "WOAH! I can't feel the ground at all in these!" (It wasn't for a run. I wore them to an amusement park.) I completely understand what you mean about extreme padding.

If I have to run in shoes, I don't run. It's not some purist attitude. I simply don't enjoy running with anything on my feet so I don't bother. I also don't bother to sniff the sour milk one last time after I know it's sour. Just pour it out! :)

Peace,

Karen

I've missed you too TJ, hate it when life gets in the way of things :p

Karen, I feel the same way sometimes. Though when I don't run, I get ugly so I have to decide...run and not thoroughly enjoy the run or don't run and be at constant battle with my inner "b****". Luckily I'm getting closer to finding a shoe that doesn't make running so intolerable.

OK, to bring this back to the topic at hand; After many days of being shod and using the orthotic approach the podiatrist put me on, I really go to thinking about Pilot and Mike's words in this topic and spent my day barefoot around the house and only put on my minshoes when I had to run, err drive, to the store. I felt better than I have in days.
