After working up to barefoot running, I honestly hate wearing shoes now for anything else (except cycling). Does anyone here go barefoot for other things? The last couple of days I have tested the waters. I have gone grocery shopping barefoot, to the library barefoot and to my kids' schools barefoot. So far no one has said anything to me yet. I'm going to keep doing it.

I wrote more about it here:

I do the following:Barefoot

I do the following:

Barefoot longboarding (skate boarding)

Barefoot Hiking

I drive barefoot

In the spring/summer I garden barefoot, do yardwork barefoot

Cut the grass barefoot, did it a few times (The wife wasn't cool with it so I stopped)

Shovel snow barefoot, it's very short but I do it every year to work on conditioning.

Make love barefoot.

Pray barefoot.

etc... etc.....

all the above except

all the above except skateboarding and running is my prayer :)

Hasn't been any snow to shovel this year but I did it last year.

  Probably a better title for

Probably a better title for the thread should be "Barefoot: Now it's for running too" There's a lot of people who spend a lot of time doing day to day thing barefoot who wouldn't dare run barefoot. Being barefoot came before running barefoot. Barefoot running is a fairly new fenominon (hukd on foniks wurkd fur me)

barefoot longboarding is the

barefoot longboarding is the absolute best, carving and sliding down hills with the wind between my toes. When I tried to longboard in my old skate shoes when I was learning how to slide, my knee hurt so bad I though I'd never be able to walk again. Lukily the pain went away after a few barefoot days. And I essentially share Gentile's list too (minus the prayer, add rock climbing). I think barefoot ted broke the longboarding distance record, but in VFF's. Here's an awesome barefoot skateboarding video I found the other day: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1d1FtM-1M3o&list=FLPV79wY-BQyLsxv4lG4dmsg&index=3&feature=plpp_video

I really try to minimize the shoe usage overall, but the winter is a challenge for me. On the first day of snow this year when I was wearing shoes, a friend told me that he literally didn't recognize me. Running barefoot and just plain living barefoot have been around as long as human kind has. modern shoes are just the fad that's beginnng to go out of style.

You and Longboard (I call him

You and Longboard (I call him Board) have something in common, Ddubb.

Make love barefoot? Wow I'll

Make love barefoot? Wow I'll have to try that one. I should keep the rest of the scuba gear on, right?

Of course you should. It'd be

Of course you should. It'd be totally gross if you didn't.

I actually started going

I actually started going barefoot all the time back in May, and then got into running and walking as a way to improve my health some months later.

And yes there's nothing else like it. Planning on going to the local annual auto show tomorrow, BF of course.

Barefoot (nearly) everything

Barefoot (nearly) everything since almost a year (1st March 11).

Exceptions:

- Funerals (3 in that timeframe, too many)

- Long runs (minshoes help)

- Frozen ground or very close to

- Meetings with people where I did not want being barefoot as the prime impression to the other party.
