Draq Queen Clubs? You must be thinking of A&M and their male cheer leaders. UT is AMAZING to be at when shorts weather starts.

Jason, I think I am following the same idea. I am going barefoot, Trail Gloves if needed, and then if my feet feel bad, I will switch the MT 110s no sooner than 35 miles in so if I destroy my knees I can still at least finish then suffer.

I may try another 50K or something later in the year. I'd like to run a faster marathon in 2013 and then the CCUM and a 100 in 2014, but it seems that Caballo Blanco dude is spending a lot of time trashing barefoot runners after his falling out with McDougall.
That is some long term planning! I'm looking at Vol State for 2013, if I don't get into WS.

Bubba - since my job works on

Bubba - since my job works on an every other year schedule, I have to curb everything real long that I want to do next year, so that is why I plan like that. My life is planned in 2 year cycles.

Across the Years sounds cool... I was thinking of the New Years Double in Dallas.

I have this on my hitlist for 2012 not sure about the 72 hours though more likely the 24 hours, but then again its only another 48 I guess. Lets see if I can convince the wife for a road trip for new years.

This is a hard sell to my wife. A trip to cali or CO not so much but AZ for new years doesn't float her boat. You'll have to give me some highlights that I can us to up sale her on.

Hmm.... Across The Years huh?

Hmm.... Across The Years huh? Hmmm..... What kind of surface is it held on?

Im not big on the big name races usually. Leadville, CCUM, Boston, things like that just dont interest me usually. But for some reason Western States and Badwater pique my interest.

I'll probably do the Badger

I'll probably do the Badger Mountain Challenge 50K up here in WA. It's a month before my first marathon, so seems like a good traing run for that

Vanessa and I are planning to

Vanessa and I are planning to do Across the Years again. This time we will opt for the 48hr race and shoot for our belt buckles. The 48hrs should allow us to get in a nice nap.

Here is what we have on our schedule so far (does not include anything below 50k):

Jan - Calico 50k

Feb - Rocky Road 100m

Mar - Oriflamme 50k; Pirate's Cove 50k; Old Goat 50m

(may not do Old Goat since Oriflamme and Pirate's is on the same weekend and there's a good chance we'll be a little sore)

Apr - Leona Divide 50m

May - Grand Canyon R2R2R (with Gordy Ainsleigh); Mind the Ducks 12hr (still a maybe)

Jul - Cuyamaca 3 Peaks 50k; Goretex Transrockies Challenge (if luck is on our side)

Oct - Cuyamaca 100k (this race scares the crap out of me and so we may travel East for a 50k or 50 miler instead)

I hear Transrockies is awesome, if you can afford it.

Hey, those are just tentative plans. No guarantees that we'll actually run all of them.

We've already made one change to the list. We marked off a March marathon and replaced it with the PCT 50 miler instead. More bang for our buck and it'll be our first 50 mile attempt.

Didn't one of you already run more than 50 miles?

I keep telling Vanessa that

I keep telling Vanessa that mileage on loopy timed events don't count as a real ultra. :)

My plans for 2012, not that I

My plans for 2012, not that I expect any of you to join me on these:

April 14: Täby Extreme Challenge 100 miles. Stockholm, Sweden. The plan is to do a solid 50 and then see what happens. Hopefully barefoot.

June 29: Lapland Ultra 100k. Adak, Sweden (Basically in the middle of nowhere). The race starts in the evening and you run through the night, all two hours of it. Also, it's the Swedish 100k championship.

After that I'll do whatever races feel good at the time, I have a few options for August-October, and after that it's time to go back to building base mileage again.

I'm excited for you, BB. I

I'm excited for you, BB. I will live vicariously though you until I can get my mileage back up.
