When I hear a new barefoot/minimal runner, or just a barefoot/minimal runner in general say yeah I don't have a blog, to me that just sounds so cool. I started a blog awhile ago, but have come to the conclusion that I am not a good blogger, it's just not my style. I was thinking about deleting but I am just going to use it as a race report log.

Props to the non-bloggers, keep it real.

I don't have a blog.  I just

I don't have a blog. I just don't have time to have a personal blog and handle all this and my "real" life. Yes, I have one of those too. I have a lot of good things I could write about, and much of the time, my views on the issues we face as barefoot and minimalist runners differs from other "known bloggers," so I would definitely give you all food for thought.

I have a blog because frankly

I have a blog because frankly its one of my few creative outlets right now. And occasionally I would read barefoot gentiles so I'm a little bummed to hear he won't be writing much on it anymore. I totally understand though. :)

@TJ - You have a whole

@TJ - You have a whole friggin' website, and an international organisation. A blog would be a step backwards lol

I started a blog and got as far as Hello World before losing interest. It's weird. I enjoy writing and can whip out a dozen long posts in forums every day, but staring at the empty slate of the blog just kills my initiative.

Also, the word 'blog' is just too goofy. Sounds more like a medical condition. Intestinal Bloggage... :p

I started a blog, but have

I started a blog, but have not kept up on it and quite frankly, I lost interest in it. It doesn't help that school is demanding and so is my wife...um...I mean I have family obligations, ya that's it. I just don't have time to keep up on it anymore.

Willie, I agree, I never liked the term blog. It is goofy.

Your blog is entertaining! I have tried to get more into it like that but it just doesn't happen, I guess it's not for everyone.

@NickW: That just it for me as well, with kids, family and work I have zero time for blog stuff.

Word, I've tried to start one

Word, I've tried to start one but gave up after a few minutes and went for a run. I sit in front of a computer all day at work and when I get home I'd rather hang out with the wife and boys. I'm terrible at using facebook too. The only reason I visit here frequently is I have to wait forever for my files to load at work so I have some time to kill regularly and most other sites are blocked.

I have a blog for the sole

I have a blog for the sole purpose of being able to follow (stalk) others. I think I've written in it twice, most memorably my recent race report which is now on the BRS main page (Thanks TJ) and has been nominated for a Grammy, or Emmy, or whatever that award is for suburb writing skilz.

I blog stuff in my head, no need to tell everyone else :p

Plus I mainly get online at work (shhh) and anything with 'blog' in the url is blocked.

Same here. "Working" as we speak...

I tried to start a blog but

I tried to start a blog but never posted on it and never made it public. Now it is dead in the cyber abyss but who knows when I'll get the itch to start doing really long shoe reviews and even longer race reports... However, you'll only be able to access it using tor.

i have one - and as much as i

i have one - and as much as i wanted it to be some huge thing... i lost interest. BUT i do maintain the "shoe" page because it is the easiest way to share that information with people who are asking questions about minimal shoes. etc... its been a while since i wrote a review (which is all i really wanted my blog to be, a gear review site) but thats because i have been running either BF or in my Lunas. hahaha - if i dont want to run in anything else its pretty tough to write a review. I still want to get some trail running in on my Inov8s and MT101s, so im sure ill post whenever that happens, but otherwise, i dont really have any plans to buy more shoes. the only reason i want to buy them is to run on them and then review them. but then they just end up in the laundry hamper with all the other running shoes i dont wear, then only shoes i ahve out are work shoes, flip flops, boat shoes and my Lunas. that handles like 99% of my shoes needs.

since i do send people there for the shoe info i keep it updated, but thats it.

I'll do you one better

I'll do you one better Gentile: I don't have a facebook account either. I had one for a few days because a running and swimming group to which I belong communicates with fb. It really felt voyeuristic to me. I also asked my wife to cancel my cell phone for Christmas, but she said no. Damn!

Blogging it up with friends in realtime over a good Microbrew is much more fun. That way if you say something embarrassing, there is no written record of it.

I have used mine as a journal

I have used mine as a journal from my first running experiences to my first ultra. May shut it down after that... not sure. I don't think anyone gains much from mine like some of the more professional ones other than just seeing what someone else is going through.

Now that is impressive! I would love to delete facebook, it's been in thought for awhile. One of my goals for 2012 was detaching myself from useless technology. I deleted my twitter account which I barely used. I am actually embarrassed to admit I even had one. Microbrews and chatting with friends is the way to go!!
