Acorn Moccasins

Did you try them on?  I tried

Did you try them on? I tried on a pair in my size last year and they just felt way too uncomfortable to my toes. The Patagonia Advocate might work better and I've seen it occasionally on sale for less than $40.

That's a typical deal price

That's a typical deal price for the Advocate. The similar prices are why I suspect the Advocate to be an all-around better choice than the Acorn Travel Moc, all things considered.

Now I'm looking to find something like the Advocate but made with a wool-felt/boiled-wool upper. That would make the it nice and ventilated.

Nyah, might look into Soft

Nyah, might look into Soft Star shoes if you haven't already. Not sure if they are what you are looking for, but when I'm hunting for mocs that's where I start.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not really looking for mocs per se, unless their upper is made of some kind of ventilating quick-dry material and they have a flexible, waterproof sole. Essentially a pair of wool felt slippers that fit securely and don't constrict the toes. I'm still on the fence about Softstar as a dress shoe. I really want them to offer a lace-up version of the Moc3.

Softstar DASH Lites might be what you are looking for. A perforated upper sole, quick dry material, extrememely flexibe, but not waterproof.

Leather is never a quick-dry material. I believe clarino, the imitation leather material that SoftStar offers, is but, not sure how well it ventilates.
