Wasnt too sure where to put this question so I figured this was a good place. Anyhow, Ive started to get into weight training again and im wondering what are some good workouts or lifting schedules that help running as well as help build the upper body to complement.

I did a bit of the routines

I did a bit of the routines in the New Rules of Lifting book, before I got lazy and stopped. Seemed like a pretty good workout, very "whole body" sort of stuff that seems to fit well with barefoot running.

when i had a gym membership i

when i had a gym membership i did all compound exercises. i don't like wasting my time there like so many others. i like to work smart, not hard. i got good results. i just read an article on yahoo yesterday about getting the most out of your workout. a trainer from his own gym with a lot of success recommended full body workouts. i used to do them and they were a great starting point.

now that my membership expired my "gym" is any playground or tree that is climbable.

I'm big on the total body

I'm big on the total body workouts too and not wasting time while in the gym. Unfortunately if you belong to a big gym sometimes others get in the way. Glad I have a small gym in my condo complex.

I like not having to fight crowds of people for certain equipment.
