I've been running in Vibrams since May 2011. Since then, I hit 2 PRs (Franklin Classic 10K and Race for the Cure 5k). Going for my third PR in November for a half marathon at the IRFTP Hard Rock. I also ran the Muddy Buddy in KSOs (mistake), did Ragnar Las Vegas in Bikilas and will be doing Ragnar TN. I would love to connect with other runners in the Brentwood/Franklin area.

Welcome, Andy! Why was it a mistake to run in KSOs at the Muddy Buddy?

Most of the path had quarter

Most of the path had quarter to silver dollar sized rocks on the path and I was only 3 weeks into "barefoot." I ran through the brush on the shoulder most of the time.

Welcome to the crew, Andy.

Welcome to the crew, Andy. My wife is from Goodlettsville, and I was born in Old Hickory. We live in NC for now, though. You've got a good sized group of folks to choose from there in Nashvegas; I hope you are able to run with some of them. Enjoy!

What a great, life-changing

What a great, life-changing ministry both of you are involved in - thank you both for serving others this way.

Andy - I recently experienced big rocks like that in KSOs even 9 months into mostly pure BFR, and they're still bruising to me. We've got a 10K here at Fort Bragg that I got roped into running with some shod buddies (I don't do races or events normally - I just run to be fit for life; they make me feel claustrophobic). We ran the course to scout it out for pure barefoot, which ain't happenin' at least for the first (and last, as it's an out-and-back course) heavily-rocked 3/4 mile.

I'm always surprised when I come across conditions like this that there will be someone on this site who will pop up saying that they love running over sharpened, 2-inch weaponized stones. Just warning you that that person will probably appear here shortly. Yes, they're crazy, bless their hearts, but so are we all I guess.

Run hard, run often, and have fun.

Hello.I'm a newbie here too.

Hello.

I'm a newbie here too. My husband worked in Franklin for approximately 6 months but recently quit to work for himself. I grew up in Murfreesboro but moved to Clarksville and then to Ashland City after getting married.

Are you planning on running any races over this weekend?

Glad to have you join us

Glad to have you join us Lauren! Be sure to join the TN group. I was considering doing a 5k race on Thanksgiving morning. Instead I'm doing a trail run with a couple of guys. Chickasaw Trace in Columbia, TN has a 8.5 mile loop which was designed for mountain bike riding but has become one of my favorite long trails. I'm hoping it will give my metabolism the boost it needs to get through Thanksgiving dinner without too much damage :)

Thanks for the invite into

Thanks for the invite into the Tennessee Group. I requested membership and haven't heard back yet. I will be running The Borodash tomorrow with my family. I'm not ready to do a barefoot run so it will be shod.
