Which VFF model

I am curious too. But I

I am curious too. But I actually just purchased mine before reading this thread (like 10 minutes ago lol). I already own the Komodosports, and just ordered the Bikila LS. I've ran in the Komodosports just a couple times, since its getting cold for my bare feet, so I dont have many miles on them yet. And I have never ran in any other minimalist so I can't be of much help. I'll give my opinions between the two though after I get em and run in em a few times. I plan on picking whatever one feels better for runing and the other will be my casual wear shoe.

BTW I ordered mine from zombierunner, its about the only place I have ever seen them on sale at, and they have been a great place to deal with so far. They currently have both models on sale and an additional code for $10 off plus free shipping. I dont know if they would like me to post a coupon code where tons of google searches can grab it so I can PM you if you want. I just ordered them for $75 total and google shopping only finds em for $100 at tons of places.

Hi Tristan,I think I am

Hi Tristan,

I think I am going for the Komodosports. You are very welcome to send me the coupon code and I will place my order at zombierunner. Thank you for the tip.

If this is your first pair though my advise would be to try a pair on if you have them locally available. The fit on these things is a bit more critical due to the individual toes. Plus another consideration I have recently encountered is socks. I just bought a couple pairs of Injinji toe socks for use with the VFF (and other shoes too) and my VFF were a little bit too snug to start with. I dont know if they shrunk slightly or my feet changed but recently they snarted feeling a bit on the snug side. The thinner pair of Injinis I bought will work but the nuwool pair is too tight. The pair I have comming in the mail is 1 size larger than my Komodosports.

I hope the lack of other responses is because these are relatively new models and not because these two models are bad! Seems most here use the sprints or KSO's. I was thinking about getting some sprints, but they werent on sale and I really did like the looks of the newer ones and the extra texturing on the soles for grip (especially with winter knocking on the front door). The Komodosports have been out since atleast early summer, thats when I bought mine.

I've tried the Komodos and

I've tried the Komodos and the KSO's. Me personally, I can't wear any of them because my toes apparently are funky so don't fit unless I get a size 3 sizes too big. Trying them on is very important as vff's don't fit for everyone. I really loved the KSO's ground feel so it was really too bad that my toes just didn't fit right. Good luck as it sounds like you are going with the komodos, which I liked too they just didn't have as much groundfeel and my toes didn't fit in these either. I've tried all the male models other than the LS versions and my toes don't fit properly in any of them. Hope you have better luck with them than I do.

I agree with the other folks

I agree with the other folks that trying them on is very important. Even then, it may take awhile to get the sizing right. I found this out with my first pair. Started out with a W41 in Treksports and ended up with a raw spot on my toe because they were too big. Once I went to the W40s, all was well. Its a very different fit and feel from regular shoes.

I haven't used the Komodos, but I love running in my Bikila's (not LS).

I wear the Bikilas when I'm

I wear the Bikilas when I'm not at work and I love them. Originally bought them for running but haven't ran more than a mile in them yet. I do all my running BF now.

Might get into running more with them as winter gets going but as far as a 'wandering around'/all-purpose shoe goes (I actually split 3 cords of wood in them a couple of weeks ago), I like the Bikilas.

Split 3 cords in VFF? LOL

Split 3 cords in VFF? LOL Thats one thing I got to the steel toes for. Well even with steel toes I guess you could still take off your ankle, or shins...

I'm a woodburner as well, actually just got done a couple days ago installing a new wood stove, you can check out a couple pics http://i903.photobucket.com/albums/ac235/kc2ebm/heating/finished1_1000.jpg and http://i903.photobucket.com/albums/ac235/kc2ebm/heating/finished3_1000.jpg I relined the chimney too but still going to re do the hearth pad.

Back on topic. I just got my new pair, I went with the Bikili LS. Havent ran in em yet barely even wore em around but so far I like em. Here is a pic of my two pairs, Komodosport vs Bikila LS:

Man the road infront of my house I run on looks a lot more harsh in the pics that I thought.

Tristan - Honestly, I felt

Tristan - Honestly, I felt safer in my VFFs than I would have in my boots. I felt much more stable and balanced in them, like I could have gotten out of the way of things if necessary. My dad wasn't happy about the whole situation but it all worked out in the end. Even made some headway talking my mom into going more minimalist with her footwear. :)

I'm not a wood burner myself but I grew up with a woodstove. Even though I've long since moved out, I never seem to avoid the wood splitting like I thought I would.
