So, last week I was running a 10k and it was a bit cold but i'm getting accustomed to it. However, towards the end I guess I was not really feeling it and had a hard time keeping relaxed form, next thing I know I step directly on a rock. My god did that hurt; first time ever. Guess I need to pay attention. At least it was a very smooth rock but it was a full on impact right on the arch. I was limping at first and had to walk some of the way back. Wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have the nasty habit of legs getting straighter the more tired I get. I dunno about you guys, but afterwards I can feel it in my feet if I was impacting too hard. It's a strange sensation in the bones. It'd be nice to be able to run and not feel a thing; few and far between those are for me, at least for now.

Fast forward to last saturday, I did a 6k and it was fine at first then became sore towards the end. It's still sore now. I'm pretty sure there isn't any damage to the bone. Soft tissue injury is usually sore and stiff overnight and better as it moves, ya? Which is the case with this.

Always seems like crap like this happens right when there is something new you want to try with BFR, like a 10k next thursday. I'm not running at all until then; I'll just stick with some daily calisthentics for now and take it easy.

Sounds like a deep tissue

Sounds like a deep tissue wound which stays around for awhile. Or you might of inadvertently turned your foot in the wrong bouncing up back from that rock, and might of possible strained some tendons.

The key now is to try to morph over objects, not pulling away quickly when stepping on something. Stepping on rocks, acorns, etc. will always hurt but when the whole body is relaxed and the mind is clear you can make the foot mold to the object with less pain.

Sorry about that, Mega.  Do

Sorry about that, Mega. Do you have a bruise you can see that you can rub out? That might make it feel better and heal faster.

sounds like the same thing

sounds like the same thing that happened to me. I was doing a 5 k on the Chicago lake front.. had my VFF on and things were going along great.. saw some grass and decided to run on that soft grass.. forgot about the sprinkler heads hidden there and took one full on the arch.. took me 3-4 months to recover from that.. but I did end up with a pretty good time for that 5K.

^^^Sigh^^^I would be

^^^Sigh^^^

I would be surprised if it takes that long. There must be some part of me that enjoys injurying myself in such consistentely stupendious ways. I'm gonna keep running after I allow myself some rest for the upcoming 10k; it seems to be better the more I move anyways.

Yeah, I hit a sharp something

Yeah, I hit a sharp something like that in my last 10K, which was really rocky. I remember saying to myself "oooo, that one's gonna hurt!" and I was right! I ended up with a spectacular apple sized bruise on my instep, but had no real problems after a day's rest. I think I got off pretty easy, maybe because my feet did feel very relaxed and moldy that day.
