Ok, so last year I decided I'd run a marathon this November. Due to some difficult times at home I haven't been training nearly as much as I've wanted to. I ran a 1/2 marathon in May and since then, I've tried to run at least once a week. Anyway, I've stepped up the runs a little more because I still want to run in November. Yesterday I did 15 miles with relatively no problems. Meaning, I'm not very sore at all today and my feet have no new blisters or anything.

My question is this: If I feel like I can run 20 miles next weekend with the same results is a marathon by 6 November completely out of the question?

FYI - I'm running it no matter what anyone says here......I'm just looking for positive vibes and motivation! :)

THANKS!!!!!!

You'll be fine - but take it

You'll be fine - but take it easy!

I've seen an ex-Marine run 28 miles as his 3rd barefoot run ever, out of sheer bloody cussedness, and you are infinitely more prepared than that.

Enjoy the run!

Yeah!  Like Chris says.

Yeah! Like Chris says. You'll be just fine!. Keep your form up front in your consciousness and you will not feel so beaten up after. ...and Advil is good stuff, especially washed down with a quality beer!

Have a blast!

I say yes.  Last year, I was

I say yes. Last year, I was sidelined by an unrelated running injury and had already signed up for the Charlottesville Marathon. I didn't get nearly the amount of training in I wanted and ended up running 16 miles the Monday before the Saturday Marathon. I finished the race with no problems and felt great. I just took it easy and had fun, no goals besides finishing.

The missed miles ended up not to be a huge factor because I wasn't running with any pressure or goals. If you finish 20 miles in time for a taper and you keep up some BF runs before the race (maybe even some gravel training) you'll do great.

Good Luck!

Well, there's about 8 miles

Well, there's about 8 miles of very rough asphalt on the race route that I normally run whenever I do train so that's my only real worry. The rest is all very smooth pavement and new asphalt. I probably would've done 20 this weekend had I not attempted that rough stuff towards the end of my run.

Tomorrows the day.......I

Tomorrows the day.......I haven't been able to sleep good all week just thinking about it. I'm probably gonna sleep less tonight! Ohh well......at least I can have a couple beers when I'm done!

Good luck, JM!  And get some

Good luck, JM! And get some sleep!

I hope you went well. Look
