Someone told me about these dress shoes today. They aren't selling them yet because they have to raise enough capital to distribute beyond their prototype sizes.

They are pretty expensive as dress shoes go, but I think they are the most professional looking minimal shoes I've seen to date. I would definitely wear these with a suit.

That shoe would still

That shoe would still constrict my big toe. The ball-of-foot shouldn't be the widest part but that's how they're shaping that shoe. I need that problematic part of the shoe remedied before I can get onboard. I've avoided the VivoBarefoot business casuals (and their athletic offerings) for the same reason. Let my big toes spread so that the others can follow.

Hey Nyah,Not sure if you

Hey Nyah,

Not sure if you watched the video, but in it, I stated, "In developing our shoe, we identified where the toes are within the toebox, allowed ample space for them up to that point, then dramatically tapered everything thereafter into a dressy tip." You have my promise that the Primal Professional is so wide, you could even spread your toes inside if you wanted to

Nyah,

You might be interested in the Oetzi3300 line. I'm testing their madlibs at the moment. The toe box is more than wide enough for my feet. While I will admit that they are not nearly as dressy as these, they might be what you are looking for in terms of width. They are kind of pricey though. That is, so far, the only issue I have with them.

These shoes look really good. I'd definitely wear them, but the price point would need to come down a bunch. $100 is about my limit for shoes. Especially when I find myself wearing them less and less. Good find Christian.

Just found this. I want some!

Greg, they didn't meet their funding goal, so you actually can't get a pair right now. The owner of the company just emailed me yesterday to let me know that they'll be traveling around the country showing off the show and trying to get funding for their first production line.

If they are successful, I'm guessing you'll see these shoes for sale by the end of the year.

See, I'm the type of person that bases a person's worth to a workplace on their skills, not what they wear. I know that others do not do so, but when it comes down to it, I really find it difficult to work for someone that would rather judge me by my appearance, clothing, or whatever instead of my contribution to the workplace. For safety reasons, I can see the need for appropriate footwear, but if you are in a position requiring dress shoes...well, then you aren't going to be subjected to heavy items falling, chemicals spilled, sharp scraps on the floor, or any other type of hazard. Probably why I'll end up having to have my own business someday...so I can go to work barefoot every day. hahaha.

I agree with you devilnuts, and hate to be required to dress a certain way. But pretty much none of the managers and others I work with judge you by what you wear vs skills like you say, its just a rule we all follow written by folks I'll likely never see. If my immediate manager or shift supervisor were to give me grief about something I am wearing not being up to par then I might feel more your way, but we pretty much all try bend the rules a little here and there.

I have worn VFF's in on casual Fridays, but honestly I enjoy wearing my Vivobarefoot Ra's in black on regular weekdays, sometimes wearing them on Fridays as well. But what helps me is I only have to do 5 dayshifts every 5 weeks (well only 4 dress up days if you dont include friday). The rest are nights/weekends and we wear whatever we want (Unshoes usually for me).
