Hi all, this is Riek from Germany. Started minimal running in feb 2011, dropped vibrams for good since july. Love trails in our beautyful forests round K'town (= Kaiserslautern), run every other day, 30 min up to 1 h, use to carry my "invisible shoes" or five fingers in case of really rough terrain, and always return home with a big smile. Life can be SO good.

Welcome, Riek!

Welcome, Riek!

Gruss Gott und wilkommen,

Gruss Gott und wilkommen, Riek!

I lived in Stuttgart-Moehringen for over 2 years and loved Baden-Wuerttemburg. I'm glad you've found our site, and I'm glad you've found barefoot running (BFR). Both BFR and this site have been great for me; this is a wonderful place to get answers to BFR questions from folks who have been doing it for a long time.

I hope you can find some friends to run with there in K-town; it's more fun running BF together. Feel free to ask any questions you come up with, und viel Spass!

Phil

Hey, Riek! Now you´ve started

Hey, Riek! Now you´ve started to post something, as promised!

Did you also try to join the Germany Chapter? Nobody joined us since 9 months. I wonder if there is some technical problem or if simply noone tried. Could you try and let me know, what happens?

Grüe and die Füe!

Thanks for the welcome Phil,

Phil, I have some colleagues that are minimal runners, and I've converted the first of them to do it bf! Although they live far away, I'll meet them next week and we will have a nice little run together - I'm really looking forward to it.

Here in K'town I never have seen any barefoot runners, but I hope it will become more common here in Germany too. Til then, no problem, I love running alone in the forests, it's like being a part of it.

Jo, I did not yet understand the structure of this forum quite well, but I'll go right now and have a look at the German Chapter and try to register.

And first and foremost, I hope you understand my English - which might be somehow......... original.

Ihr Englisch ist nahe

Ihr Englisch ist nahe perfekt! Viel besser als mein Schwaebisch. I'm glad you've got some running pals and have even talked one of them into this craziness too. It really only looks crazy at first. It is one of the smartest things I have learned to do. Tschuss!

It worked! I just approved you in the German Chapter. You´re the first who joined us since May.

Yes, you´re right, the structure of this forum is not all obvious on the first look. I´m glad you found your way through it, though.
