Here is a short video I shot of me running in various types of minimalist footwear and barefoot on rocks and cement shot in HD and slowed down.

My minimalist preference in order of most ground feel

1- VFF (they are very well broken in having ran in them for over a year)

2- Invisible Shoes 4mm (on the way to being my favorite, still new to me and needs to get broken in)

3- Invisible Shoes 6mm

4- Merrell Trail Gloves

Nice. I'm not sure yet what I

Nice. I'm not sure yet what I want to do. I don't have a lot of money to but any minimalist shows and my current pair are normal running shoes. I'm also only a few days into Barefoot running and not ready to being running barefoot.

The best way to begin

The best way to begin barefoot running is to run barefoot! Ditch your shoes!

I'm sure you'll do just fine

I'm sure you'll do just fine with the walking plan. I think it's a great idea to get your feet and connective tissues (calves, Achilles, plantar fascia) acclimated first before running barefoot or in zero drop footwear to help ensure more success for when you do try to run barefoot. This may not be necessary for everyone, but there's definitely no harm in doing so. For those who don't want to walk first, they should practice patience and keep their initial mileage and speed low while their connective tissues acclimate.

Mrizzo, you have much more

Mrizzo, you have much more self control than I ever had. I'd be champing at the bit to just try it a little, then a little more, etc. I started with about a mile of BFR my first time out. I ran slowly, but still way more than I'd recommend now, knowing what I do.

I think you just might get away with maybe a short run before the month is out. See how your feet feel and how the rest of you reacts.

Good luck!

Thanks. I'm looking to get use to going BF around my neighborhood since I'm not use to the feel and such on my legs. Today during my walk I jogged for a tad bit and made sure to step on whatever I could to get use to that pain.
