How dumb would this be?

So I am going to do my first 50K soon... I am very excited about this. I am even starting to have dreams about running in it.

Anyway, the day following is my companies annual 10K.

I am going to be doing the 50K in my minimus (its a pretty tough terrain) and then I thought well maybe I could BF the 10k and take it easy....

Would this be completely dumb, or would it be considerable? This would all have to pertain to how my body is feeling of course. I should ask, if I felt pretty good the following day, would this be dumb?

Cheers!

I don't see a problem with it

I don't see a problem with it as long as you have absolutely no performance expectations during the 10K. After my first 50K, I felt really good. I ended up doing a hard bike ride the next day. No big deal. As long as you're ready to go really slow, you're good.

I would make a judgement call

I would make a judgement call the morning of the 10k.

Ice things down after the 50k and if you feel good why not. It may help to plan a run the day after the 10k then you must save yourself for the third run.

my 2 cents :)

I think if you have properly

I think if you have properly trained for the 50K on similar terrain and you have miles under the belt you should be good to go. If you think the 50K is going to wipe you out maybe not. Can always sign up for it and if you feel like the 10K might have adverse effects there is always the DNS option. Good luck with the 50K and whatever you decide to do the next day!

Get some! And have fun doing

Why not just sign up for it

Why not just sign up for it and see how you feel. I know after my first 50k, that I was actually pretty well trained for, I couldn't have done it (well in less than about two and a half hours anyway). I pretty much just laid in a chair and slept the following day. But I also didn't take an ice bath or anything after I got home or really did much of anything to try and recover properly. I just slept and slept and slept.

Yeah, jlaugh!  Good luck, and

Yeah, jlaugh! Good luck, and let us know how it goes.
