I ran 40.37 barefoot miles (+ 65.75 miles on the bike)

It was a great month despite it being hotter than hell here in Dallas, TX

Looking fwd to cooler months ahead...

break down of my activities can be seen here, I love Runkeeper

I had a slow month, due to some vacation, hubby's work hours, illness, then the usual. I only got in 60.5. I hope next month will be better.

I didn't have much free time

I didn't have much free time to run in July... only ran 9 times but made the most of it for 73 miles...hopefully I can run more often in August.

I just finished totaling my

I just finished totaling my month's run #'s a few minutes ago: 61.25 for the month, 19.5 of them in VFF. The VFF miles were only 2 runs, one a trail race and the other a gravel trail run. The BF were the best miles, though.

I'm getting acclimated to running wet and hot. I try to plan my runs to have a swim or a shower handy at the end. I think I prefer summer to winter in any case.

Run well, all!

I got in another 5 miles last night. That gives me 65.5. Hope to work on that this month.

I ended up with 50.5 for the month, all hills and all barefoot BF. I lost several running days to migraine, and several more because of the stomach flu but I'm happy to just be running. JT, I enjoy a cold spray from the hose in the yard when I'm done these days! I've noticed that I like running in the heat better now that my feet aren't sweltering in shoes.

Ah man it has been awesome!

Ah man it has been awesome! The weather has been most lovely for running, I usually run at late evenings.

Today I ran 5.5 miles, half of it barefoot. I have done this mileage only twice this summer, at other running sessions I run about 3 miles and those with "Merrel barefoot".

When I'm at home I have the chance to run at this wonderful asfalt road that just goes on and on... Otherwise I have to rely on gravel roads so I need my merrels to protect my feet.

I haven't been able to log in here for a while because I forgot my password btw :p

Running barefoot is so nice, I don't get any splinters anymore. I feel I can run much faster now because my running has improved A LOT! I don't go out of breath the same way as I did sometimes with shoes, my running seems to take less effort somehow. Another thing that I also have noticed is that I don't seem to get a sore stomach anymore when running, usually I can get stomach ache quite easily after a few miles, but now when my running has improved I don't get that at all anymore.

Its new to me as well, it sure is great :) and welcome back!

As for my miles I can't say I have an excat number for July. But it was the first month I ran predominantly barefoot :) (was all barefoot except for a few miles that I did for charity when I was easing into barefoot).

Awful, a runner's hell. I don't think I am actually a runner anymore, in fact. It's been 2 or 3 months since I ran regularly due to an annoyingly minor back injury(how is it I can carry 50 pound bags of oyster shells for a few blocks and do heavy duty remodeling moving heavy furniture, but I can't run more than a mile?) I want to slit my Vibrams with a razor blade.

July was the month from hell

July was the month from hell for me I only managed to put 75 mi and this month so far doesn't look any better.

great to read how everyone's

great to read how everyone's month went, i'm planning to up my mileage gradually in the coming months...

July = 40 miles (complete)

Aug - 60 miles

Sept - 70 miles

Oct - 80 miles

leading up to...

10/30 - 6 mile Race (Halloween Hussle)

11/24 - 8 mile race (Turkey Trot)

12/4 - Half Marathon (Dallas White Rock)

July was great. I went trail running for the first time. Had so much fun I did it again. 4.5 miles each time. A hill with dirt, rocks and roots is way different than pavement.

Running-wise my July

Running-wise my July $ucked!

I started off this spring with a goal of running all the races I did last year but with improved times.

It worked for a while, but then the shin splint thing set me back a few weeks, strings of 90-100 degree + days were no help, and also the social calander interfered a bit. Then came the family camping trip, and I feel right now like I'm barely a runner rather than a barefoot runner.

Did have this waiting for me in the regular mail though:

Hang on, I'll have to re-remember how to upload it.

Here's what Board (above) wanted to share with us. Enjoy! (I blacked out his info, just in case.)

This was my worst running

This was my worst running month sice November of last year.

I managed about 14 miles total and 11 of those miles were logged by the 5th of July. I can only hope they discover a cure for IT Band Syndrome soon! I would love a little red pill that would clear it up in a day or two.

Good numbers everyone-- even

Good numbers everyone-- even those who only did 75 or 100 miles.

I did about 35 miles--still breaking in my feet. I still get occaisional, fleeting, very minor pains in my left midfoot, so trying not to do too much.

Do you ever get a whole body twitch while lying in bed? This morning I got one just in my hips. I think I was itching to run.

Between poison ivy, the heat,

Between poison ivy, the heat, and lazyness - 0 miles. I was barefoot all month except for when I was working. Getting back into it again this month...starting out slow...a half mile Tuesday, almost 2 miles yesterday, and shooting for 3-4 miles tomorrow - all on chip/seal. BTW, my chip/seal may not be as bad as what others have - check out the first pic in my blog post - http://barefoot.find-it-usa.com/?p=170
