(TJ, should I be putting triathlon race report links in the tri forum or the race forum? Does it matter? Should we make a race report sticky in the tri forum? Am I thinking too hard about this?)

Had a sprint tri last Sunday, the Firecracker. My run went very well, with a new 5k PR of 24:14. The other two legs, well I guess you'll have to read and see.

Here's the race report link.

Post it in either and/or both

Post it in either and/or both forums, no problem. ;-) Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the heads-up on

Thanks for the heads-up on your race report! You are like the only barefoot minimalist runner triathlete I can find that is posting race reports LOL :) I am still training for my first one but I'll be doing my first 5K in the VFFs next month can't wait!!

Did you say you are using different clip shoes on your bike now?

My clip shoes are Shimanos.

My clip shoes are Shimanos. Basic tri cycling shoe with one big velcro band across the top for easy and fast entry and exit.

Another triathlete I follow who live in Texas also runs in VFFs. His blog can be found here. Cool guy.

Thanks Doug ~ I will follow

Thanks Doug ~ I will follow his blog deffinitely. I am trying to decide if I should do the clip shoes and and save the VFF transition for T2. Have you tried putting them on with some help like with baby powder in them of something? I am going to pracice some various scenarios and see. I would rather just run it barefoot but on some of the Tri's I can see I'll need them for the surfaces.

I've never used baby powder

I've never used baby powder for T2. The wet/sweat isn't that much of a problem. Practice T2 during your brick workouts and you will get the feel for fitting your toes into the sockets fairly quickly. Have fun!

Thanks I'm at about 30

Thanks I'm at about 30 seconds getting the VFFs on ~ I'm going to practice bringing that down :)
