lol, welllll... to be quite

lol, welllll... to be quite honest... that a causalty of my knife. thats a baracuda and he kept eating out AJ as we were bringing them up, so when he was near the boat someone gaffed his a$$ and then i cut him up for strip bait. :/ i know some people may not be ok with that, but its fishing.

the wahoo: was actually on a jig. its kind of a ridiculous story actually. i am a jigging NUT! i only jig or pop for fish. i RARELY use any kind of bait. i think its the best way to fish, EVER! anyways, took the boys out fishing, we were into as many AJ as we could get. and back then i only had two decent jigging setups. so because we had three guys fishin, i grabbed a Shimano Trevala rod with an 8k spinning reel on it(i use this as a pitch bait rod) and tied a jig on it. well long story short y buddy gets this hoo on the lightest crappiest outfit i have on the boat, we had to chase the fish all over. But he boated him. it was awesome! probably top two fishin stories on my boat - for sure!

here is the rod/reel right after my buddy landed it.

here is the gps trail of us chasing it.

the average AJ that day

it was a good day on the water! :D

TUNA!!!

Oh man, fishing stories,

Oh man, fishing stories, Amberjacks, tropical lattitudes... You're killing me with that. I've done OK with those jigs in Polynesia but sharks get just about everything we hook. It's a better bet for us to dive down and spear them. Of course not much of any of that here in Pacific North West. Been chasing Chinook though which has been great, not to mention stumbling onto a giant Morel this weekend. You take your paradise where you can find it right?

WHAT??!!  That is a serious

WHAT??!! That is a serious fricken tuna!

Holy crap! Did you catch that

Holy crap! Did you catch that thing with a pole? I don't know much about fishing, but that fish looks like it could weigh almost as much or more than you! Wow. Just wow.

hahaha - yea, the picture of me with that dinky lookin fishing pole almost getting pulled overboard... thats what we catch them with. For me its all about the sport, most people use much heavier tackle.

one fish weighed 225lbs and the other 270-300 i think. it was an awesome time! and youve never had good tuna until youve had tuna that was swimming around having a great day 3 hours prior to you eating it :) MMMMMMMMMMMMMM
